I'll show you mine, if you show me yours! Budget related ;)

How is your flight cost from Toronto so low??

I searched and searched for months for a decent price on a flight. I was going to go with Sunwing because they are usually the cheapest and this time around they were the cheapest I could find too. But before committing to buying them I decided to check around one last time for something cheaper and lo and behold I came across this site: flightnetwork.com. I think it was like $130 cheaper than Sunwing so I was pretty excited when I saw the prices.

I just worked ours out last night.

Staying 10 days, 9 nights at Beach Club Villas April 28th-May 7th

4 tickets on Air Tran out of Detroit: $913.60 return
9 nights Beach Club Villas: $1782 (rented points)
10 day Park Hoppers: $1375.61 (2 adult, 2 children)
Food and Misc expenses: $1500

Total will be $5571.21 although likely a lot less in food/misc spending.

A fun little exercise. Here are my numbers from our March 2011 trip:

Airfare(4) $3148.28 - direct YOW to MCO Westjet
Insurance (Medical) $ 60.00 - RBC Family coverage
Accommodation (7nts) $ 929.64 - 2BR @ Sheraton Vistana Resort (this is our AMF and property tax)
Auto rental & gas (8 day) $ 407.01 - 8 passenger Chevy Traverse (National) gas included a trip to Tampa area
Parking and Tolls $ 181.00 - includes $144 for 8 days @ Ottawa Int'l
Food/Dining/Alcohol $ 758.59 - 4 people, but in-laws were also there and we hosted a few shared meals
Cell Phones $ 101.62 - bought 2 basic phones plus airtime. They will be reactivated on future trips
Park Tickets $ 1022 - Undercover Tourist, 3 day Universal hopper, also included 20% of cost for our 10 day no exp WPFAM passes (we used 2 parks, 2 minor attractions)
And now for the big ticket: Souvenirs and Outlet Shopping: $1,729.58 :scared1:

Note: some costs are in US, others Canadian, but the dollar was so close to par after exchange that it was pretty much a wash.

Our trip is May 30 - June 10 flying out of Detroit, 2 Adults, 2 Kids (12 & 9)

Hotel and Parking at DTW $99
Flights x 4 with Delta $1110
Car Rental with Hotwire (mid size car) $330
6 bedroom Villa that we are sharing with my sisters family $545
3 park unlimited US/IOA/WnW from Undercover Tourist $688
Discovery Cove 2 Dolphin swims, 2 non swims $800, this also include tickets for Busch Gardens
Gas for trip including drive to DTW $200
Meals $1500
Tips $300
Spending money for 4 $1500

Total cost for trip $7072

Wow, sounds so much worse when you add it up!!!:scared1::scared1:

I will have to come back and edit once I have closer numbers:

Flights : 600 dollars for 4 of us (3.5 tickets with Aeroplan, and 1 one-way ticket bought)

1317.02 : Disneyland park tickets, hotel for some nights, and 2 character meals
898.56 : 4 nights at Paradise Pier

FREE : 3 tickets to Legoland (2 child, 1 adult)

I have a car rented for 140.00 for the week.

So far : 2955.58
Need to add : food and souvenirs, and possibly SeaWorld. I have 200 US put aside, and hubby has 800US cash as well. So should be around 3600 to 3700. This will be our most expensive trip yet.

Just figured out ours for a family of three during March Break, driving down and back:

Medical insurance $100
Kennel for dog (10 days) $245
Gas (2 days each way) $560
Tolls, misc. on drive $50
Hotel (1 night each way) $200
Meals on trip down and back $200
6 nights at ASMo, 5 day park tickets, Disney dining plan $2807.55
Adult beverages, souvenirs, tips, etc. $400

Total $4562.55

I might be a little high on meals for the trip down and back as we tend to do QSRs when travelling like this. We drive a Dodge Ram pickup (thank goodness for 4 wheel drive last time!) and may be able to save a little on gas if I can keep my lead foot under control too. But doubt that will actually happen! :rotfl2: I also left a little extra in hotels for the trip down and back as you never know what you are going to get depending on where you are.

I'll play along. We don't generally spend much on souvenirs and will most likely only use the credits on the QSDP so honestly I expect to come back with about 1/2 of our spending money.

7 days - Nov 28-Dec 5th
2 adults 1 child (5)
Pop Century, QSDP, base tickets no hoppers 1660.00
Westjet direct Ottawa to Orlando - 943.00
Misc spending/tips/souvenirs(pirates league/barber shop) - 600.00
Total: 3203
