I went to Jax Beach on Saturday and the beach was open for business, lifeguards were manning the shore, I'm not from Florida, so I assume if it were THAT dangerous they would close the beach?
Honestly, the waves did not look THAT big from far away...but close up some were pretty big. I did get slammed hard a few times and got a bloody scrape on my knee as proof. Ouch! Despite that I still had a fun time and there were a LOT of surfers out!
