It's been over a month since my kitchen renovation started. I have a very small galley kitchen so it isn't a huge job. But, the problems keep building up and I am totally frustrated. One cabinet door came in with broken glass and I was told we'd have it replace in 1 week. It was 2 weeks ago yesterday now it won't be in until 11/19. The counter (zodiaq) was installed yesterday and the plumber was scheduled for the afternoon but they were told not to because the counter had to sit for a while so they came this moring. They are to install the faucet, garbage disposal, dishwasher and ice maker lines. The whole for the faucet is too small and won't be corrected until this afternoon. They also scheduled the tile guy to do the back splash this am. He had to leave because the plumbers are there! The plumber just pulled out the fridge (brand new, semi built in GE Profile, with ice and water dispenser in the door). The fridge is damaged with 2 very large scratches and dents, which happened when they forced it into the cabinet. The plumber will not touch it and can't pull it out any more to install the water line. The guy won't be there to look at it until after work. The fridge cost almost $2000. and I will not accept it. We live at the shore and things rust, quickly. The electrician left wires all over the attic, none are secured down and loop all around. Everything was supposed to be done today. It's the weekend so it looks like another weekend without a full working kitchen.

I went through complete gutting of kitchen a few years ago. I feel your pain.

It will be worth the headaches when it's done, though. We had pretty much our entire old house renovated. I agree that it's SO frustrating while they are doing the work. If it makes you feel better, our house sold for over twice what we bought it for just 6.5 years later. We sold FSBO, and the people who bought it wanted it because of all the renovations we'd had done. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel...it's just frustrating until you get there.

Me too!! We gutted the kitchen October 17. We got the cabinets installed. But no countertops yet! The sink is built into the countertops !!! No cooking (yeah!) But it's super inconvenient just to eat or do anything at all!!!

We were lucky that while we waited for the counter top they gave us a temporary sink. It was this funny little plastic one for laundry rooms but at least I had running water in there until last night. It's just great that I have a water/ice despenser with no way to hook it up. They'd better figure out a way to do it NOW!

Remember, short term pain for long term gain! We did ours in March/April of this year! I thought I was never going to get thru it!
It will all be worth this pain in the end!

Now the kitchen place said they didn't put eht fridge in and the appliance store said they didn't put it in either. I guess this big old fridge walked in.
