If you've been to both, help me decide if we would enjoy Chef Mickey's. :lovestruc

First off, we love to eat, we love buffets, we love Disney(land) food in general. We admit, it's probably the atmosphere that makes it taste so good to us. We're happy in our little food fantasy. ;)

We really like dinners at Goofy's Kitchen in DLR. DH loves the all you can eat prime rib. We love the characters and fun. We love all the food choices we get to have and try and we're happy with the quality.

I keep hearing reeeeealllly bad reviews of the food at Chef Mickey's though! Comparing it to Golden Corral or Old Town Buffet! YUCK! :scared: Goofy's is def much better than those places!

So do you think we'll like Mickey's?? and if not, are there any buffets with the all you can eat meat you'd suggest that are better (prefer a character meal or something interesting for the littles - Ohana is already full)?

Goofy's Kitchen is on my list of top buffets on a Disney property...Chef Mickey's, not so much. The quality at Chef Mickey's has gone down over time so IMHO it's not really worth it, there's other places I'd rather eat..but that's just me and I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel it's just fine.

If you're looking for breakfast with characters, you can do Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, Cinderella's Round Table, Ohana, Tusker House, Akershus (haven't had a meal here, heard mixed things. Without characters you have Whispering Canyon, Boma (one of my favs), Whispering Canyon, Grand Floridian Cafe, The Wave, I can't think of anything I'm sure there are a bunch that I'm missing.

Dinner options with characters are again Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, CRT, Akershus, Garden Grill, and Garden Grove.

HTH!! :thumbsup2

For me, both places are very different and I would go for Goofy's Kitchen all the way without the doubt. The ambiance is better and so is the food.

Our experience with Goofy's Kitchen was about 5 years ago, but we just ate at Chef Mickey's 3 weeks ago. We've only done breakfast at each. I would say CM is a big step down from Goofy's, and I've officially taken CM off of our list of possible restaurants. The food was just not good, the character interaction wasn't that great and the price...we loved Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House, though!

One thing comes to mind: French Toast Creme Brulee!!!!:worship:

Had this at Goofy's Kitchen a few years ago and it was absolutely wonderful. I wish they would serve it at Chef Mickey's.

I have only had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen and it was fantastic. We thought the food was great. I am not a big buffet person and generally do not care for them but I really enjoyed my meal at Goofy's Kitchen. I enjoyed only two meals at DLR, Goofy's Kitchen and Napa Rose. Of course the two are not in the same ball park, but I did enjoy Goofy's kitchen more than Blue Bayou and Ariel's in DCA.

Chef Mickey's on the other hand....not so much. I am not a fan of CM but my family loves it so I tough it out. The characters are great you will meet the fab 5 which is different than Goofy's kitchen. At Goofy's we met Pluto, Goofy, Jasmine, Max, and Donald I think.

IMHO I think if you love Goofy's kitchen you will like Chef Mickey's.
