Dawn - Thanks for the past pictures. I love that one of Luke looking at the castle as well. I so remember the herd of people trying to take a picture with the characters. My first trip to WDW was in 1978 (I was eight) and I remember my grandfather pushing me closer next to Donald to get my picture with him. Not fun at all but my mom has that picture so I can't show you. I need to get some of those pictures.

Wow Dawn - I can't believe your trip last year was the first time you had been to WDW in 15 yrs! No wonder why you've planned so many trips this past year......you have alot of lost time to make up for!

i know! we were actually supposed to go in 1999 but ray got kidney stones the day before we were gonna leave, so we didn't go. then we were supposed to go on our honeymoon but ray got a new job like a month before that and because he was so new, he couldn't get a full week off, only a couple of days. so we took the money we had saved for disney and just went to savannah for a long weekend instead and spent our money on a bed and breakfast and lots of food and adult beverages! it wasn't disney but we had a blast.

I am going with my friends Dec 4-7 (offsite condo) and then going back Dec 12-14 (WL) with my parents. I'm looking forward to experiencing the off-site thing - I guess I can't have an opinion until I try it and I've heard so many people who really like it. You can't beat the space for the $$.

All caught up with your report now. Great alternate plans! Never hurts to plan ahead - hopefully you won't need them but good to know they are there.

You are not a dork. I have a lady at church who wanted to know what it would cost her family of 6 to go to Disney. I researched for 3 hours one Sunday what it would cost for her to stay on site/off site, flying/driving, and hoppers/non-hopper. I wrote it all down and gave it to her. It was for a week and there was only a difference of about $100 staying off site. It was fun for me, so NO you are not a dork. People who have never been there have no idea what to do. I know that they appreciate any help you can give them.

I totally understand. The next best thing to me going to Disney is finding out someone I know is going. And if they want to ask my advice.....well that's just the icing on the cake. Have fun . Hope you can get them a character meal.

OT... Hannah finally watched Alice in Wonderland and I thought of you since you love that movie! I don't have it, it was on one of the Disney stations so I dvr it... she did not move! Guess I need to find it.

AWESOME! i'm glad she liked it. i have it on VHS and i've wore that thing out! let me know if you find it on DVD. i haven't ever looked. i'm actually reading the book right now. i'd never read it and i realized that the other day. it's great so far.

That dog is SO cute! What a wonderful thing for you to do to get him some care and help him find a loving home. I have wanted a beagle for a couple years and my boys would love one I'm sure. Too bad I am too far away to adopt him I hope someone wants to give him a great home.

thanks! i hope we find him a good home. he just "met" sherman and eli. i had to keep him in the garage until ray got home from work so he could help me give him a bath. i was afraid he'd have fleas and that's a problem i definitely don't want to spread! but he's all clean now and they're playing.

one more doggie wouldn't be so bad except that they'd all stay inside and that's just TOO MUCH! sorry to hear about your pug. ray's mom had a pug named percy (which they had way before the percy in pocahontas was around!) and she died about 5 years ago of kidney failure. they also have a beagle named lucy and after percy passed lucy would occasionally take something like a sock outside to where they buried percy and just lay it on top of the ground like she was just giving her a gift and reminding her she loved her.

so onward we go to the next disney trip on our list - september 2007!

after our may 2007 trip i was hooked! we made plans to return a year later, but then my friend erin and i were talking about it and we decided to go in september 2007 during free dining to celebrate her 30th birthday. her birthday isn't really until november, but who cares??? and as an added bonus, this would be erin's first time to disney world! anyway, to make a long story short, we didn't get the free dining, but we did get to stay at OKW FREE with tara (eventer98) so the free dining didn't make a difference anyway! we drove down on a friday night after work and only had saturday, sunday and half of monday to enjoy WDW...... it was a short but fun trip though.

we didn't get checked in and into bed at OKW until about 2:00 a.m. and we had ADRs at kona cafe the next morning, so we only got about 4 hours of sleep and had a full MK day planned.... it was an adventure, to say the least! especially for tara who was about 3 months pregnant (i think)!

one of the best moments of the trip was seeing erin's face as we walked up to the MK. we took the monorail from the poly to MK and as we were walking down the ramp, the opening rope drop show was happening. when erin saw the characters she got really excited and was like, "OH MY GOSH.....THERE'S MICKEY MOUSE!!!!" i swear she teared up! it was great.

we met pluto just as we were walking into the park.

this was the first time i'd seen MK all decked out for fall. it was beautiful!

EVERY time we'd get on a ride, erin would ask, "is this scary???" even on winnie the pooh! during splash mountain tara and i would tell her that this was the big drop when we'd be going up to the little ones, then on the big one we said it was a small one. look at her face!

we had dinner at crystal palace that night. here's an eeyore shot for erica and memom!

this was my first character meal and i really loved it! the food was good and the characters were so sweet.

tigger was especially good. erin asked him to bounce and he did, then we said he looked like he was "raising the roof" when he was bouncing and he started to actually "raise the roof". it was great!

piglet was also great. she/he kept coming back to erin and giving her kisses on the back of her head - scared her to death!

after dinner we watched spectromagic with melinda (lexmelinda) and her family. by the way, i haven't seen her on the DISboards in ages. MELINDA.....WHERE ARE YOU????

the next day was MGM (yes, before it became DHS!). i saw these guys walking by, holding hands as i was waiting for tara and erin to get off what i call the lame movie ride.......so cute!

we had lunch at '50's PTC. our server was cousin elizabeth and she was GREAT! really funny!

i don't have a picture of this because i was videoing, but the FUNNIEST thing happened when we were watching beauty & the beast. during "something there" chip is dancing around and he falls flat on his face. but the funniest part was that lumiere was over there trying to help him up but couldn't because......HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY ARMS.....BECAUSE HE'S A CANDLEABRA. it was hysterical!

we left MGM to go meet some of my disappearing peeps over at the poly for dinner at 'ohana!

it was around wendy's birthday, so we celebrated!

back to MGM erin and i went to see fantasmic while tara went back to the room to rest. erin's ready for the show!

we went back to MK for EMH that night. i didn't really take a lot of pictures because we were just trying to take in MK for the last time this trip!

the next morning we went to AK. we wanted to hit the road by 1:00 or so, so we knew we didn't have all day. here we are enjoying EE!

we had lunch at flame tree BBQ, then tara had to leave to go back to OKW to catch ME to the airport. i was so sad to see her go, but i'm so happy i got a chance to meet her!

the one character we hadn't met yet that erin really wanted to meet was donald, so after asking some CMs, i found out that he would be taking pluto's place in a few minutes, so we waited it out and here he is!

after that we watched the festival of the lion king - erin loved it!

Keep the dog! Our 3rd dog kinda fell onto us as well...I was visiting my sister in CA. She had basically starved her dog and left her tied to a doghouse b/c of her ongoing mental issues. Not that it's an excuse. Anyway, I told her I was taking the dog. So I booked the dog a flight with me on Delta and brought her home. The vet in CA didn't think she would make the flight but she did. 3 years later she is actually a little overweight and our best behaved dog! You just never know..some things are meant to be!!

Awww, thanks, man! I love old Eeyore. I have about ten or twelve different ones, plus a picture frame and some other Eeyore goodies. I hope to buy that Jim Shore Christmas Eeyore when we go in November, if he doesn't cost too much.

Looked like a fun bday trip with the girls. I went to WDW the first week of Sept.07. It was hot, but we did get free dining! I loved the Peter Pan tee. You always find the cutest tees.
