Hmm, negatives. We don't like talking about negatives

. I don't know of any major negatives about the community. Most of the stuff I am aware of are old issues, nothing really negative that would affect guests now. The community has a strong community manager and he is good at getting things resolved.
Windsor Palms had a new entrance built and until recently, the entrance sign was, well, not impressive. However a few months ago, after many years of back and forth with the county etc (got to love that red tape!), there was a new sign installed.
Some people will tell tales of an odor in the area. Several years ago (Can't quite remember the date - perhaps in 2003/2004?), when the 429 was being built, there was an occasional odor from a water treatment plant. However, and I am being honest here, I have visited several times since that was completed and have never smelled anything untoward. I have also chatted with people who own on WP who have also visited since that time and no issues that I am aware of.
The 429 runs right by WP - but I have never had an issue with or noticed road noise when I have been there. It also is a speedy route if you want to head over to Tampa
The other 'negatives' are also positives. WP is in the countryside. There is lots of woods and conservation space around. Open space equals critters. Bugs, turkey vultures, snakes, racoons, armadillos are all around. If you want to be negative, that can equate to critters getting into trash (I believe the condos have bench trash bins outside which are emptied daily), bugs can get everywhere (however regular pest control at the condo/home should mean that the bugs will not survive very long even if they end up in a home). As a plus, I, and I am sure many others, love to look out at the conservation area. I love sitting watching a sunset, with a cool drink and listening to the chorus that nature sings at night. Another plus is that it helps create a nice relaxing atmosphere after a day at the parks
The community is relatively small and I love that. I can walk from any part of the community to the clubhouse (and in some of the larger communities, I wouldn't want to do that).
Oh, and Jerry, the clubhouse manager, also puts on BBQs during busy times. Watch out for that. I hear they are good (I have never managed to be in the community for one of those!)
