Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Hey now, I like Fritzie. The most infinitely patient character on TV. Glee is my new favorite, but we don't miss Modern Family either.

Sounds like eveyone is getting ready for Christmas. Still working on having room for a tree this year. It didn't help that I just bought a new fridge and bedroom furniture at an estate sale.

We had a nice trip to WDW. Nice weather, amazing food, lots of pictures. Has anyone eaten at Il Mulino in the Swan? It was so very good, even though it was raining that night and they stuck us behind a screen in a dark corner because we looked like tourists. I blame it on Kevin, he was wearing his "comfy" jeans that make him look like a farmer. My black capris, white socks, and black shoes had nothing to do with it, I'm sure.

Lots of family stuff going on here, but we are good. Alicia is planning to move into the dorms in January if her grades are good. Sort of dreading the empty nest syndrome, but will not miss the late nights when I can't go to sleep until she gets home.

That's why you need a DVR. Don't know what I did without mine. It seems like everytime I want to watch one thing there is something else I want to watch on at the same time. I can usually then watch it in a day or two so mine is 90% free.

Just one more thing for me to have to figure out how to operate.
Oh wait, that's what I have Jared for!!

Fritizie won my heart the other night when he gave Brenda Lee the new kitten.
I wasn't clear before, I think. He's also on another show right now, Brothers and Sisters, as the mom's (Sally Field) boyfriend. I think it's kind of weird to see someone on two shows, with two different women.

I know how you feel about Alicia. I'll be kind of glad when Jordan flies the nest, because I wait up for her, too. I need my sleep!!!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well! TGIF!!!

Kiki, how's your mom doing these days? Hopefully making some progess.

Mary, how are you feeling? All back to "normal"?

Garry, how are you? When will you be moving to FL with your dear wife?

Stacey, how are you after your fall? I bet you're getting excited about your cruise.

I'm home again with Ashley - day #3. She's been running a fever & is congested. It seems like whatever Emily had back in Oct., which the nurse said was probably the flu. If this is the flu, then my kids don't act like I do when I have it! Emily had fever for 3 days so I'm hoping today is the last day!

Busy with Nutcracker all weekend for us. Dress rehearsal tonight from 4-8, performances tomorrow at 2:00 & 7:00 then on Sunday at 1:00 & 6:00.

We have several old Christmas movies dvr'd right now - Holiday Inn, White Christmas & It's a Wonderful Life.

Quite ticked off with the NFL. They are airing the Saints/Dallas game on their network this weekend rather than broadcast tv. We don't get that channel with our package .. wonder if I can up my package today & downgrade again on Monday????

Had to go to Barnes & Noble last night to pick up a book for Emily for a book exchange today. I bought Kingdom Keepers - Disney After Dark. She seemed quite intrigued by it. Here's the synopsis from B&N website.

From Barnes & Noble

Synopsis

Using a cutting-edge technology called DHI - which stands for both Disney Host Interactive and Daylight Hologram Imaging - Finn Whitman, an Orlando teen, and four other kids are transformed into hologram projections that guide guests through the park.

The new technology turns out, however, to have unexpected effects that are both thrilling and scary. Soon Finn finds himself transported in his DHI form into the Magic Kingdom at night. Is it real? Is he dreaming?

Finn’s confusion only increases when he encounters Wayne, an elderly Imagineer who tells him that the park is in grave danger. Led by the scheming witch, Maleficent, a mysterious group of characters called the Overtakers is plotting to destroy Disney’s beloved realm, and maybe more.

This gripping high-tech tale will thrill every kid who has ever dreamed of sneaking into Walt Disney World after hours and wondered what happens at night, when the park is closed.

Angie...that sounds like a really good book. If I could have found something like that for Jared, he might have been more interested in reading and doing reports. My two girls are avid readers, like me, but Jared is like his dad....if there aren't guns & war involved, forget it!

I'm doing pretty great. I didn't do any more damage to my shoulder, which was the best news. The bruises are that ugly yellow, but should be gone before I have to dress in sleeveless for the cruise. The bad part was landing on one of my bad knees, but I'm hoping that, too, is just a bruise that will get better.
Yes, I'm excited. Curious, really, to see what Carnival is like. I just hope it isn't one of those ships that's impossible to find your way around in. The one Princess cruise that we did, you couldn't just go from one end of the ship to the other in a straight line. You'd have to go up one level, then back down, then back up..... And since we don't go to the bars, I'm not too worried about being around the "drunks" that Carnival is sometimes notorious for. At this time of year, it should be more families anyway, I'm told.

We only put up a small, 3' fiber optic tree, because we didn't know if the puppy (big darn dog for a "puppy") would mess with it. And so far, it has still gotten knocked over once. But I have a lot of other decorations out. Not looking forward to coming home and taking it all down, though. I may go the Scrooge route next year, and not decorate, unless Megan & Dave come with Ronan.

Had to laugh, I've never been to that restaurant, but I seriously doubt you guys looked so bad that they felt they had to hide you. :rotfl::rotfl:

What ship are y'all going on? The one that we were on (Fantasy) made you go up/down to get from front to back. I didn't like that, especially when having to go through smoke-filled areas.

Deck the Halls ....
Tis the Season ...
And other things that rhyme with "olly".....

Have not watched a single Christmas or holiday movie/event - what's up with that?

We were at WDW last weekend and saw Candlelight twice, so that counts. And the castle is amazing with the lights.

Our home is pretty - the tree is decorated with white and red lights this year and I feel a candy cane moment coming on....

Meanwhile - safe travels to all of you who are leaving for the holidays and welcoming messages for all our diskids coming home.

Everyone, STAY HEALTHY - no more falls. bangs or bumps. 2010 is going to be a healthy and happy New Year.

Starting with Kiki's Mom - best wishes for a continued good recovery.

Hey Ang - will "Kingdom Keepers - Disney After Dark" be a good read for some of the adult kids on my list?

The home computer has crashed - and right before Christmas too, I wonder if this is a hint??? Nah, not really, Sam has taken it to 2 repair shops - still waiting. We have a back-up of all the data but I am afraid that I downloaded pictures of Food and Wine for Scoopie and deleted the disc - and they did not get backed up. Since we have no computer to check the back-up????? I guess we will just have to do it all over again next year....hee hee.

Must rush off for now. Later.

The kids are home from school, they had a half day today to kick off their vacation. We're busy in the kitchen preparing for our annual Christmas Eve dinner with John's family. For the past two years, it's been a rather mobile date on the calendar due to a new marriage and church schedules. This Christmas Eve is no different, John is directing the video team and Mike is playing with the church orchestra.

John is about ready to fire up the smoker and throw on some Cornish Hens. It's a rather simple dinner tonight, with the kids busy schedule of band concerts, rehearsals and a basketball game, we haven't had time to go as fancy as our normal holiday dinners.

We have the Christmas Tree up and that's about the extent of our holiday decorating. I do have my newest nativity sets displayed in my cabinets but, since they are up year round, they really don't count. Since everyone tends to be more willing to decorate than to take down, the less I have to put away the better. Maggie believes John is the block Scrooge since we do not have outdoor lights on display.

The Elation. I guess I'd forgotten about smoking indoors. My rule that I live by still stands....no smoking indoors for me, unless I'm in the casino. And on the Elation, you can go around it...don't have to walk through it.

I haven't studied the deck plans enough to know if I have to go up and down. We're close to the mid-ship elevators, so maybe I won't have to go from front to back ever!! Just go eat, and back to the room!

It's going to look like Scrooge lives here next year, because unless Ronan comes, I'm rebelling. Jay hates putting them up, so I don't ask him. Jared doesn't want to be bothered with anything in the winter when he's doing glass....so that leaves me. And I'm tired of it. If I have something easy, I may put up something outside, but for the most part, I'm done. No help = No Decorations.

Stace, hope I didn't offend you. I forgot that you're a smoker. Funny thing is that my kids didn't know what the smell was. We had to walk past the casino to get to our evening dining room. And the only way in to the kids club was through a bar - that part really wasn't cool to me.

TOP with Stacey! Extra pixie dust for all those who need it.

Hey Ang - will "Kingdom Keepers - Disney After Dark" be a good read for some of the adult kids on my list?

Irene, I guess that book would be ok for a light read. I'll probably read it during the holidays. I still have to get through the last book of the Twilight series. The book was in the young reader section - along with Tale of Despereaux, etc. Go check out the review, synopsis, etc. on the Barnes & Noble website. Maybe that would give you a better idea.

NO! Of course you didn't offend me! I know how disgusting cigarette smoke is!!
I'm so used to DCL not having smoking indoors, I probably won't like it on Carnival either, and will try to avoid those places. Except the casino, I make no promises there. ;) I think it's really stupid on some of the ships that make everyone walk through the casino to get to the other side. They may very well do that on purpose, hoping people will stop and play, but they certainly weren't taking children into consideration when they did that.

And I think it's disgusting how you can walk past a room (when the steward has the door open) and it stinks to high heaven.

Nope, you didn't offend me, I'm a hypocritical smoker.

Curious, really, to see what Carnival is like.

I'm curious to see what you think Carnival is like! I wasn't thrilled with it, but hey, it sure beats staying home! I'm looking forward to cruising NCL again in May... I've always loved NCL, even though its got its 'haters' too!
