Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Day 5 was back to Castaway Cay. The late night move was rough on the girls. They did not make it out of bed until 10am. They spent the day with their friends and Frances and I headed over to the adult beach. Sitting in the water talking and reading was very relaxing!!!

Then we saw the new show Believe. It was kind of slow at first, but once it got going it was nice. A tear jerker for Dads.

We ate at Animators Palate and the girls continued there nightly ritual of coloring the kids menus. :rotfl:

I saw the movie "African Cats" from Disney Earth Day Series. It was like the Lion King non-animated.

THEN - it was time to pack up and head back to reality. Frances and gang continued on to Disney World. I hope they had a great time.

We all had fun and I think Lisa got the Girls Trip she wanted.:thumbsup2

GOOD MORNIN ALL
GIRLS the night light settting in the cabins has a dimmer on it

PUSH AND HOLD it dims the light down to a very soft and low setting.

you really should take me next time I can be very helpful, like going out doors first or making sure the are no bags in the way !!!!!!:rotfl2::lmao:

okay work to get done I should be packed and ready for the road trip BUT nope !!!!!! it will be a day to test my peace of mind. I am going to talk to my little theifs dad about getting my phone back, the kid is about 15 or so.

SEMPER FI !!!!!

Girls Cruise Recap:

Frances took Lauren and her friend Jessie and I took Lisa and Bugs. So, two Moms and four sixteen year old girls. We all had a lot of fun.:cool1:

Day One - We were the first group who boarded after Concierge. We went up to the Spa to book the girls in the new teen "Chill Spa". (You can't book online. Believe me I tried. I was up at midnight on day 120 ) They each book a massage. There is only one person who gives the Teen massages, so they had to book one right after another on Nassau morning.

We ate at Enchanted Garden. The food was good, but it was crowded feeling (a theme throughout this cruise). The girls left to explore the ship after lunch and Frances and I started the unpacking process. I liked the basic layout of the new rooms (especially the new showers which are circular and have multiple shower heads). I HATED the new lighting system. I never did figure out a good way to turn on one small light without turning all of the lights on to some extent. We all used our I-Phone Flashlights at night to get around!!!:rotfl2:

Love the TRIP Report and thanks for posting...This gives another view on the new DREAM...... Some comments.

Hum, TEEN MASSAGES - I think they should have more than one person -- We took a tour thru the Teen Chill on the first day - it looks like a neat place.

Enchanted Garden was my favourite. And we already know about the crowded experience....Do not like that aspect of the new ship at all. What time were you there for EG lunch? It was not crowded for any of our lunch times. Maybe because the cast was sending everyone upstairs for lunch and we went downstairs....Hey, I can follow directions (sometimes?)

No clue on the lights either....GaRRy has given us a hint.

Thanks to Irene, we knew to play the Mouse Detective Game right away. It was a lot of fun, but it was VERY crowded by the end of the cruise in front of the various paintings.

We saw the new show "Villians Tonight". I liked it. I was glad to see a different show than they have had in the past. We sat up in the Balcony and could see very well.

We ate at Animators Palate the first night. I really like the upgrades to that restaurant, especially Crush talking to the various tables. He talked to Jessie at our table.

I went and saw a movie the first night, while the girls went to their program. This turned out to be the highlight of the cruise for my girls. They LOVED the VIBE. They spent a lot of time in the program which has happened in years for Lisa (probably since the 2004 Cruise).:worship:

The girls ended their evening by doing the Aqua Duck at Midnight.

YEAH - glad I could help....Another hint for Mouse Detective Game -- even if you do not wish to start playing right away, at least pick up your game pieces.

Oh, and what cabin - deck were you on?

Don't you love Animators...You really need to have a cruise where you can eat there twice as it is different for Pirate night - a real big improvement I think. Although I will welcome the old Animators on the Wonder and Magic.

Aqua Duck at Midnight - what a great concept - I want to do it at sea, were were at CC - but in Jan, it was freezing.

Day 2 was at Castaway Cay. Lauren and Jessie went Para-Sailing. The rest of us went snorkeling. We saw a lot of fish and Lisa even found a lobster. After lunch (without chocolate chip ice cream:sad1:), the girls left for the slides and their new friends. Frances and I enjoyed the beach, but it was CROWDED. We went on the Aqua Duck. It took us about 20 minutes to get on, so it wasn't too bad. It was FUN!!!!!

Sorry, this was the night for Villians Tonight (there were two comics on the first night). I am trying to do this from memory.:rolleyes1

We ate in Enchanted Garden.

Day 3 was the Day at Sea. Frances and I worked out (small) before going to Palo for brunch. YUM!!! I like the layout of the tables at this Palo better, they were more spread out. We did not eat at Remy's. We are saving that for next years "Lisa turns 18 Cruise".

We ate at Royal Palace. Our table was in a smaller room which made it very nice. Lisa, Lauren, and Bugs loved their escargo (sp??). Jessie however couldn't even eat one. She stuck with the kids menu many of the nights.
All of the girls "clean up" well and looked beautiful.

We saw the picture Stacey posted and you all looked great. I would not know what Palo's layout is -- we could not get ressies for anything on the Maiden. Oh well, next trip...the Wedding Cruise - I've booked Remy and Palo but no brunch on a 3 night - guess I need to book yet another????

Poor Jessie - she does not fit in with the DisKids cruise family.,.....maybe later.

Day 4 was Nassau. After the spa treatments for each of us we headed in to Nassau. The girls had attended the shopping presentation and had all of their "coupons" for free stuff!! This expedition would have driven Jim CRAZY, but the girls had fun collecting "trinkets and trash". Then we were off to the straw market. Jessie had never been there. Both Lisa and Lauren purchased "knock-off" purses. Frances and her girls then went to Senior Frogs. My girls wanted to get back on the boat so they could see "Lemonade Mouth" on the Jumbo Tron. I went to the newest Pirates movie in 3D.

We ate in Royal Palace again for Pirate Night. We didn't even want to attempt to get near where the show was (it was too crowded to even see the Sail Away Show), so we sat up in the adult area and watched the fireworks in comfort.:thumbsup2

Then the girls were off to their program and the mid-night showing of the Pirates Movie in the Walt Disney Theater.

:cutie::cutie::cutie::laughing::laughing:Hee hee hee hee hee - I love it, a shopping trip - what fun. Guess that is why it is a Girls Trip.

Sorry you missed Pirates...We were able to get to see it, but you are right, it can be crowded. What I did not like was our waiters were rushing to get us finished in time for the Deck Party. Maybe that was because it was the Maiden (or maybe it was our servers). Our party did not like to be rushed. Reminded that if we did not scurry we would miss something - that is fine, but it was almost a given we would be up and leaving...Did you find that as well?

Next trip, watching the Fireworks only is a good idea...Can't see them from Pink.....:confused3 Did you see Pink :cloud9:

A UTOP with Sharon, the DREAM and the Girls Trip.....

Note to self....rememer to sleep a week in advance of the Wedding Cruise -- to be able to stay up after midnight!!!!!

Two stops at CC are so much fun, and I love Believe.
Packing - not so much fun.....

Lisa - did you get the Girls Trip you wanted?

Hedgie was very jealous she could not come. She likes shopping for freebies.
She does not like dive boats.

I will allow you in my room so that you can show me how to work the lights and the phone. But when we leave the room, YOU go first!!!
:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Thanks Sharon, for filling us in. You all were REALLY busy!! I love the tip about watching the fireworks from the adult area. :thumbsup2

Sounds like the Girls Cruise was a great success! Cute picture, no wonder they put you guys on the Facebook page. Everyone looks like very happy customers.

Trying to figure out if we are going to F&W or not. We are now spoiled and want to do some special events and they just seem so pricey. Shouldn't have done them last year, would still be ok with just the food booths.

I now have a real excuse for not going to WDW in hot weather, which leaves a very small window to go. Got diagnosed with a "syndrome" and one of the problems is I cannot tolerate high temps with high humidity.

The good news is, we can use DVC points in CA and HI! How much is airfare to HI these days?

EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK --- missing the boat so to speak....is F&W info posted yet? I had best wander over to this year's thread.

Is our "old lady leg disease" one of the symptoms? I'd love to know what causes that.

Stacey, don't think so. That's just a thing that people of a certain age and coloring get, I think. Sort of a heat rash. Another reason not to go for about 7-8 months of the year.

No F&W info yet. Just the bands that are playing and a couple of new booths. Hawaii and the Caribbean, I think.

The info I've seen said paid events can be booked August 16. No idea if they'll give us a couple weeks to peruse the events or 2 days like they did several years ago!! :confused3

Swan/Dolphin has their information up. Oct 7th and 8th is their 2nd Annual Food & Wine Classic. I already purchased a ticket for a wine seminar on the 7th. I plan to stroll along the causeway too ($65+tax) - just need to decide whether to do that Fri or Sat night!

I have my flights and my rooms (Dolphin & BCV). Will arrive 9/29 and fly home 10/9. I can do a lot of eating and drinking in 10 days!!! :rotfl:

We met some friends from MI on Monday night in Orlando for dinner. They were at WDW for a few days.

It was 97 degrees and humid and that was at 6 PM.

I can't even think about being in the parks during the summer. Standing in long lines next to sweaty people and screaming kids is not my idea of a good time.

Sharon, sounds like y'all had a nice time on the Dream even though it was crowded. I'll have to come back before our Fantasy cruise to ask for pointers/reminders about the ship ... like how to dim the lights, Mouse Detective game, etc.

I sort of goofed on booking our cruise for next year. I don't know if the school calendar wasn't out yet or if just didn't pay close enough attention to the date. The girls get out a whole week earlier than I thought. We could have been cruising mid-May rather than first of June. I'm sure I could have save myself at least $500 by cruising mid-May. Oh well. Can't switch now as prices have gone up so much. I hate when I spend money unnecessarily. OOPS! :headache:

This will be the first summer in YEARS that we aren't doing a Disney vacation. :sad1: We do have water park tickets left so we may hit a water park when we go down to visit my sister this summer.

Darn, I would have liked to have had a solution. It was really bad on the cruise last summer. Interestingly, I did okay at WDW....but by the time we walked around Nassau (and I only went a little ways) the backs of my legs were one solid sheet of red. I've discovered that if I start taking Ibuprofen before I go out, it helps.
