We dined there this past month. We were seated in a smaller room, which was nice because it cut down on the noise level from the bar. The food and service was excellent. It is a New York Style Trattoria-with New York prices. Our server was attentive and when we were cleary ready to have our order taken-one of the other servers in the area came and took them. I really like that team dynamic instead of sitting impatiently while he explained the menu to the other table, someone jumped in and took care of us.
My mom tried a caesar salad, dad had an antipasto and I had the minestrone. All were delicious. For dinner my mom had the carbonara, dad the canneloni and I had the gnocci bolongnese. The carbonara was in a lighter egg cream sauce than what I am used to, but you could definetely eat more. The pancetta, egg and cheese sauce tasted great. My dad's cannelloni was stuffed with a fine ground beef and spinach mixture. The flavor was spot on and the seasoning was perfect. My gnocci portion was huge! I could have eaten two or three dinners from that plate. The gnocci were large about as wide around as a Lifesaver candy and were tasty. The bolognese sauce was chunky and rich filling me up quickly.
Overall we had a great dining experience and plan to go again next year. The meat entrees are served a la carte so you need to order pasta as a side dish, much like Maggiano's restaurant. The prices are higher like in a big city, our dinner ran about 25-35$ per person, plus a bottle of wine. The meat dishes will cost more, but I really wanted pasta at dinner, I would eat meat at another dinner. This is a busy, hoping place, especially if you are there during a convention. However we ate around 7:00 PM so the drinking crowd had rolled in. The restaurant validates your parking as well. Hope this gives you some good insight.
