(oops-posted on restaurant board...) Re-posting....
Staying at the Dolphin this week, we needed dinner the night before we hit the parks. We didn't feel like going far b/c we'd been up since 4:30 AM. We tried Il Mulino for the first time, at the Swan Hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised! I absolutely loved the food and the decor. Our server and his assistant were VERY attentive, and a little too attentive and fast at times...
First, they offered a water selection. Tap water was fine. Then came a basket of bread that was AWESOME! They also dropped off a plate of roasted eggplant mix and some sliced tiny salami. The eggplant on the bread was to die for. I had the linguini w. white clam sauce. The waiter let me know the chef liked to prepare it with...can't remember the words, but it meant "spicy." Just a little kick/heat. Very nice. My husband had the Rigatoni Con Funghi which was also wonderful. We had trouble deciding on wine, so our waiter made a good selection. Only problem was the price. $40 above the Total Wine price, but hey, we were on vacation....hmmm. It was nice. We took half of it back to the room for the following night. Rec. a lovely bag to take it in!
At the end we were offered dessert, but we were full. Then our waiter brought us a comp tasting of limon cello. Very nice! We've had this lemon drink in Italy and we have made it here at home. Their lc was good! Since I was not finished with the wine in my glass, I would say that the timing of the delivery was off. Also, they took away things from the table at a rapid rate.
Funny thing, the restaurant was about 60% occupied yet our service start to finish was about 35 min. Too fast for Italian and pricey wine...
Would I go again, yes. Try it if you want great food and attentive service. Next time I go I will mention that I have no intention of rushing off to a park for EMHs! The food was some of the best I've ever had on WDW property.
