We are going for the first time. Got a restaurant coupon. MENU looks good. Arekids meals really $12? Are portions big enough to share?

If you go into the dining review forum and search the restaurant name, you can find pics and specifics. However, the portions are definitely large enough to split unless you're big eaters...but that being said, you have to order two entrees if you plan to use your certificate. A pizza on the menu is comparable to a large pizza from a pizzeria anywhere else. Definitely large enough to split, probably between 3 people. The atmosphere is a little nicer than most regular park restaurants, you can find pics online. We dressed up a bit when we went just because it was our nice adults only dinner, but they may have a business casual dress code in place like many signatures so that's something to be aware of.

The prices on kids' meals are probably set higher to discourage too many young diners. This is an excellent upscale restaurant, definitely nicer than Disney's signatures. Other than V&A, it's the only place at Disney where I've gotten an amuse bouche. They also have outstanding wine selection.

They may charge a split plate fee if you want to share; I'm not sure.

Thanks! I was thinking of getting two entrees and sharing with the kids. We have 3, will we be ok to bring them?

Really? I remember Bistro de Paris giving us an amuse-bouche a couple years ago. Do they not do that anymore?

DH and I love Il Mulino. But we do not have kids so I couldnt tell you about actually dining there with kids. But the food selection and wine selection are great. I ordered chick parm with a side of pasta and it was WAY too much for me, we really could have split it.

Kids are most welcome at Il Mulino. Despite it drawing the convention crowd it is a resort restaurant and families are welcome.

They offer 1/2 portions of pasta plates for adults, so I'm guessing the full portion is enough to share. It is our 'go to' restaurant at Disney. I think they do some dishes wonderfully and some not so much. For me, the beef (carne) carpaccio is a must do and a half portion of a pasta, usually the rigatoni con funghi. I've never had luck with their veal dishes.

Not only are the adult portions huge, but the kids portions are too! (learned that lesson the hard way the first time we went) Now DS8 and I always share the adult chicken parm and still can't finish it between the 2 of us.

Love this place! Great service, great food! :thumbsup2

Thanks for asking about Il Mulino. I just made a reservation for our upcoming trip and I was going to ask for some reviews. Glad to hear all the positive reviews.

NOTE: This is only one of five sit-down eateries we
patronize at WDW. The service is always exquisite
and the food very-good-to-excellent. I want to feel
important at a fine dinner, and IL Mulino does this
to their patrons. We felt the price-to-food/service
ratio to be of excellent value. We had two servers
who kept our glasses full and our needs always met.
It is good to be pampered.

Thanks! MickeyNicki- I stalk all of your dining reviews!!! I feel honored that you commented on my post!:lovestruc

Now I'm curious...what are the other four?

Curious about the other four, too!

Il Mulino has become one of our regular spots. For some reason, we always get the specials and they are always really good. And a lot of food, the option to get the half portion is really nice.

And, they take TIW now. That's 20% off the food AND wine. They have a wonderful wine list for those of you that imbibe, though it's pricey. I've found new favorites there.
