My DH and I have an upcoming reservation at Il Mulino. The menu does not have a pasta or potato side dish listed for the meat /seafood dishes. I looked under side dishes because I think I read that the restaurant is a la cart but I don't see anything listed there either. Can anyone let me know if they offer either of these to add to our meals?

Never eaten at the one in FL but have at 2 of the restaurants in NYC. Serving pasta with a meat or fish course is something done at Italian-American restaurants but not those that hew to the traditions of Italy where the pasta course is generally separate from the protein entree. You can certainly order a pasta or potato side dish on the part of the menu called: Piatti per Il Tavolo
It will be a la carte and you can choose to have it served with the meat course or before or even after.

Thank you NYCgrrl. I did see that part of the menu but it says for families of four or more...not individual orders.
MY DH looks forward to a little pasta or a nice potato dish with his entree...me too lol!

:(
Keep in mind that the prices in that section of the menu are listed "per person" for many of the dishes (maybe they'll make a dish for less than 4?) and share accordingly or opt into one of the two meatless options in the "Pasta" section.

I've been "anti-carb" for many years now but neither DGD or the man follow my diet and they have definitely had pasta with meat.
Hoping this helps:).

As mentioned above, yes pasta dishes are available as side orders (ie half orders). For example, if you order a simple dish like chicken parm, that's exactly what you will get, just chicken parm. No pasta. So ask for a half portion of one of the pasta dishes to go with it if that's how you like your chicken parm

There is a roasted potato side that can be ordered separately. We had it last month. It's not a large portion but it's excellent. There are several side add ons listed in the actual menu. I can't recall them clearly but I'm fairly certain that in addition to the roasted potatoes there is sauteed spinach as well as a broccoli rabe dish with sausage.

Thank you whatsthebuzz!
It's good to know that we have lots of choices. Can't wait to try Il Mulino!

Hope you have a great time! We are big fans. I’ll be at one of NYC locations for Mother’s Day because everything from the included starters to the bread is exceptional. Love to hear what you thought.
