We are thinking about a restaurant close to SBP for our wedding dinner. Df would like a private room if at a possible instead of just ADR's. Citricos is my top choice but we have too many people.

Anyway, does Il Mulino and Blue Zoo truly have a private room? Are there F&B minimums??

Thanks!:lovestruc

I have heard that Il Mulino has a private room, and I believe there is info about it in the Swan & Dolphin sticky at the top of the main page.

I was at Bluezoo a few days ago and took pix in the private room. All the info and the food and beverage minimums are on page 33 of my book, but basically it is one long room that can be sectioned into three separate rooms or you can put two together, all depending on the number of people you have. Each section seats up to 15 people and has a $1,200 food and beverage minimum. If you want 2 sections, double the capacity and price, three = triple them.

My pix aren't that great - there are some good ones on the Swan & Dolphin website. There were lots of extra chairs in the room and it was only sorta set up, but this is one third of the space:

Ohh thank you for that! The pics are very helfpul. Too bad we are going to have 17 people, lol. I am not paying $2400 just because of 2 extra people.:rotfl: (me and Df hahaha)

Thanks for the pics Carrie :thumbsup2 It's nice to have another view. I'm having my dinner here so I'll be sure to post pics when I get them.

FYI both rooms are fairly narrow. They are about the same in narrowness. We looked at Il Mulino and Bluezoo, I have pics in my PJ too. Il Mulino is a bit less expensive than Bluezoo. We have a $3,000 minimum for up to 48 people and that uses 2 of their private rooms. All 3 private rooms hold up to 70 people with a cost of $3,600. They have the same deal with the 3 rooms that can be sectioned. They also have a few other options for bigger parties with higher minimums.

Bluezoo was my first choice but the contact woman was really horrible about getting back to me. Basically she ignored me for months on end and only responded the day before I had planned a site visit at Il Mulino (and told her about it). I've heard from 2 other brides who have had similar experiences, but recently one complained to the higher ups so there is a chance that this problem has been fixed. Just be warned that it may not and one bride had a bad experience where things were actually wrong on her day. I hate to pass on negative third hand info but just wanted to warn you in case you have trouble getting an answer too.

I am also really curious about these venues and after lurking on here decided to e-mail both restaurants. Erica at Il Mulino has come straight back to me and seems so friendly an helpful. She has quoted me 1500 minimum expenditure for the private room and an extra 1,000 to use the outdoor area for a cocktail hour if we want it.
Our wedding plans have changed massively recently as we are from the UK, not getting married until last week of August 2013- anyway I sent out save the dates and pre RSVPs to get an idea of numbers, and it works out we will have 19/20 guests total - hence we are now looking at Escape not Wishes.
Anyway, back to the restaurants- I haven't heard back from Blue Zoo, and wouldn't you know, this is the restaurant that my DF prefers. I have been on one post where the bride kindly posted photos and have lurkyloos book, so know about costs- but anymore info would be much appreciated- good and bad! :)
