Ikea

I tend to get a little carried away in that place. I went in there a few weeks ago to get a dresser to match my current one and walked out with a few more items that weren't on that short list. I love just looking at those mock rooms that they make up. I go from section to section going "oh, I want that whole set".

Anyone for the cinnamon buns??

When is the Orlando store opening, and where will it be located!!! DD finished the CP in May, and will be moving back to be a fulltime CM later this month. She's gonna need some furniture! We love the Schaumburg Ikea store.

I am SO envious of you folks who live near an Ikea--I've never set foot in one. Even DH is excited about the one opening up in Orlando!

I love the one near Boston but have been there only once. Now my DS 22 wants to go out there for some furnishings for his 1st apt. off campus with a few other Grad students. I bet he'll get carried away in there ....it's a great place to find things to furnish your 1st apartment with !!! He actually wants to borrow my mini-van for the trip down there (otherwise he'd never want to drive my "van":lmao: )
I can't wait to go back there myself !:cool1:

We had meatballs from Ikea for dinner tonight.

Whenever we go there, I stock up on the meatballs, sauce and ligonberries. It's such a quick, easy dinner, my kids love it and it's great for last minute company. No one ever believes me when I tell them I got the meatballs at Ikea. YUM!!

I don't care too much for the furniture but I love the kitchen stuff, linens, lighting and decorations and the outdor stuff...plus the organization stuff...well, pretty much everything except I don't care for pressed board furniture all that much, from anywhere.

OH! The wood toys are the best!! ANd all the plastic kid's tableware is great too...and my kids love that they can play while we shop. :cool1:

(I love Ikea- we're about 30 mins from the Tempe Ikea)

I used to have three (yep, three) within a 90 minute drive. As I sit here in the living room, I see the Roj bookcases that hold 1000 cds, and the Billy Bookcases that hold 350 dvds. In our office, we have two desks, the same name, one large, one small (forget which one it is)

The boys are sleeping on Ikea beds that used to be bunkbeds in our old house. My bedroom has 6 dressers and two nightstands from the same grouping. Two of them came from the clearance room-a must visit each time we went. The boxes were ripped. I will say this-they tolerate short haul moves, they didn't like the move to Florida, and about quit being level drawers that close. At least no one sees those but the family.

We're getting one in Tampa in '09. It'll be close enough to my job that I can hop on the Crosstown, go get a yummy meatball lunch and drive back with time to spare in my hour break. Woohoo! :cheer2:

I've been saying I have to go to Atlanta, in part because the Billy bookcases are full and I stopped buying DVDs. I said I wouldn't really get more until we had a new Billy bookcase to put them in.

Ikea rocks!

We love IKEA! Live about 2 miles from the Minneapolis one. It is right near where we work out in the morning, so we frequently go there for breakfast after: 99 cents for eggs, bacon and potatoes and another 99 cents for swedish pancakes with lingonberries, plus free coffee or tea! We also have a number of pieces of furniture, planters, baskets, cat tents, linens, etc...
