Hi :wave2: I was just wandering how many of you Canadians have Ikea window coverings? I guess if you own anything else Ikea also. We are redecorating our home, DD17 and I have just started to paint the kitchen cupboards. She loves Ikea, so I am trying to talk her into going tomorrow to find good ideas and great bargains.

If you go to Ikea, make sure you check out the "As Is" section first! Sometimes you can get a great bargoon! I needed to extend DD's curtain rod and for $2.00 picked up a rod that did the trick!

I also go to Sears Warehouse for Drapery!

There is a place that has stuff on sale this coming week, Linens and Things, I think. The flyer is in the car.

I have purchased roman blinds from Ikea and love them. I got them super cheap at their summer sale.

We have a lot of stuff from Ikea, kitchen cupboards, couch (don't really like it-not holding up that great), Tundra flooring, cribs, etc.

The only thing we haven't really liked was the couch.

Hi again. We just got home and had a great time. I found a pair of dark brown LOOOOOOOOOng curtains for $39.00, then we went to clearance and she just put the exact ones out for $15.. a single, as is.So I took them instead ,I have not looked over them, they do smell a little bit smokie. Now I can shorten them and have enough left over for the other window.
DD17 found a tall glass cabinet in clearance for $49.00 for all her Dale JR collectables.

With three kids, a dog, a macaw and 2 cockatiels and oops dont forget Davy Jones our Siamese fighting fish we are hard on stuff. I have bought Ikea drapes buffet/hutch, entertainment units, coffee tables, chairs you name it we have bought it...what held up the worst was the birch entertainment set...probably because I moved it too much and what has held up the best...my 169 dollar set of table and 4 chairs. I bought two sets and put them together. I have bought all my dark wooden blinds out of the clearance section. It's definitely not top of the line stuff but it has simple clean lines that go with most households. If something gets wrecked it doesn't hit the wallet so hard!

When my kids are all grown up and have left home I might buy nicer stuff but not too much because I then have to accomodate all those grandchildren I am going to get... I hope...;) anyways I would much rather spend my money on a Disney vacation!:cool1:

Hi again. I just told DH where to take me to pick out my christmas presents.(IKEA), I am also thinking about buying many of our two DD's presents there too.

Our bedroom is basically an Ikeas show room. Our bedroom set (bed 2 night stands long dresser and tall dresser) and our curtains and roads are all from there. We had to get he curtains from Ikea because they were the only ones that would fit our windows which are 9 feet high and 4 panels wide. The ikea drapes use to be 300 cm long but they are now shorter starting this season (240 or 260 cm I think). The savings was huge compared to having some made and it was even cheaper then buying fabric ourselves and making them. We do have some other Ikea furniture (book and cd cases, TV stands, coffee tables) and go there quite a bit for little things.
