DD10 is doing much better. So much so, that DH and I packed up the kids and headed north yesterday. We needed a snow day and since the snow didn't come to us, we went to the snow. DD1 had some tummy troubles and went through 4 sets of clothes. Of course, I only packed 2. But the snowdrifts outside of Target were awesome! The kids played, I bought DD1 some new clothes. We ended up at Cedar Hill State Park, up near Dallas. No one was there. We went to a nice open area and the kids played and played. It was wonderful! When we went to leave, a park ranger had blocked off our exit. So nice of them to check and make sure no one was there before they blocked it off. I'm glad we have 4-wheel drive. Around the barrier we went and on our way. It was a LONG drive but definitely worth it. The kids probably wouldn't remember just another school day, but they'll remember picking up and driving to find snow. They'll remember the fun, the cold, and the craziness. Man, I LOVE my life!

Kerrie, sounds like a fun snow day. We are avid snow skiers and when the boys were younger, my husband and I used to get a bit annoyed with them because they preferred the time at the condo after the ski day just playing in the snow.
