Iger confirms DHS name change will happen

weird.

i liked MGM studios but i've gotten used to hollywood studios.

its weird to me that they would change the name AGAIN when its only been hoollywood studios since 2008.

perhaps they will change it to something more recognizable with the sate of FLORIDA since people could become confused and think it was in california.

hmmm now i'm thinking of names lol.
what about WDW studios?

We love Hollywood Studios as a park, so can't wait to see what all they are going to do, esp with Star Wars!! Disney kills me in how slow they are sometimes to release info on the expansions. I WANNA KNOW NOW!!!!!!

I also didn't like Animal KINGDOM as a name either. How unoriginal. (Disney's) Hollywood Adventure just doesn't fit in with the other park names and it copies off of California Adventure. Plus I find nothing adventurous about HS. They would have to add a lot more than Star Wars land to live up to that name for me.

Someone posted in the Disboards group on Facebook that they have a friend doing graphic art for the project and according to them the name will be Disney Hollywood Adventure..... So. Take that with lots of salt.

Or just simply...Disney's FANTASIA!

Was originally thinking along the lines of Disney Fantasy Kingdom, but think it might conflict with MK's Fantasyland a little too closely. But I agree, the "Hollywood" concept can be dumped, though the tie-in to movie magic/fantasy/imagination, like their cruise ships, should somehow be preserved.

I bet years from now it comes out that the change was being hotly debated but they hadn't decided to do it yet, so that kid was planted by the executive who wanted the change... and now they can't say "just kidding" so they HAVE to do it.

They already exist, and are called Diggerland. There are parks both in the US and England.

All joking aside this is a good thing, and Iger knew it was being changed he just wasn’t sure if it was already announced somewhere which is almost worse. I have a love hate relationship with Iger I love the money he brings me I hate how he manages when it comes to P&R.

I agree...especially when the movies that constitute the underlying source for the park last longer than a visit to the park itself!
