iFitness vs. Spibelt

I need to replace my hydration belt with just a belt that is a pocket for holding things. I'm tired of wearing that big bulky hydration belt anymore and it keeps riding up. So what are your thoughts on the Spibelt and the iFitness ones? Does one hold more than the others? I need it to hold: keys, room key, ID, gels and maybe some Tylenol. Sometimes I also take my phone and/or iPod with me.

Do they stay put or do they ride up while you run? I like to wear them low, more towards my hips. Any advice on picking one is much appreciated. I hate to buy something off the internet without seeing it and trying it on but I really want to get rid of my current belt before the Goofy in Jan.

Thanks so much! Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't speak about the iFitness, but I love my SpiBelt! I also hated wearing a hydration belt. I always felt like the bottle was bouncing on my back. I wear my SpiBelt in all my races. I carry my ID, room key, car key if nec., money, shot blocks or clif bar. I clip my phone onto the belt portion, although in the past when I had a smaller phone I put it into the pouch too. I feel no bounce at all. They stretch so much.

I do not run with either.... Just want to offer than you should try them on before purchase, if possible. Like with other equipment, what works for others may not work for you. Though, from what's see in reviews, you probably would not go wrong with either. Note, this is one item I would not feel bad saying you could wear on race day, as long as you are not loading to the max... Even then, all you would really be dealing with is an annoying bounce.

I use the water-resistant spibelt, and I love it. Stays lower on my hips, comfy.

Highly recommend.

Odd man out . . . iFitness belt all the way. I've raced with many Spibelts bouncing up and down around me (did not wear, just saw them). I wear my iFitness pretty low, but it never bounces. I have the two pocket kind. I can fit a camera, phone, gels, ipod shuffle, cash, and id. Lots of stuff - too much stuff!

Do you happen to know the name of the two pocket one you have? I wanted to look into that one. Thanks!

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on this. I really appreciate it. I hate buying things over the internet that you can't try on but I don't want to wait until the expo to buy one either. Have a great night!

Neoprene Double Pouch Belt...good luck!

I have both an iftiness and a spibelt. I like each for different reasons. The iFitness (double pocket) does a great job of staying in place. I wear it pretty low on my hips and it stays put. I find it holds a fair bit of stuff but is not very stretchy so I have to be more choosy about what I bring with me (the iphone and inhaler don't fit well together in the same pouch).

The spibelt really expands to carry lots of stuff but is more bouncy and rides up more.

I have a huge fanny pack I wear for my long runs that can carry 2 water bottles, wallet, keys, Kleenex, Gu, etc. I also have a Spibelt, I wear for races. After the fanny pack, I don't really notice the Spibelt bouncing. But I Don't carry too much in it. Cell phone clipped to the belt; Keys, Kleenex and moleskin in the pouch. My running shorts have pockets that I carry Gu in.

Thanks again all! I have another question. With my current belt it works it's way loose while I run. So after about a mile of jogging I have to stop and tighten it. Do both of these stay nice and tight while you run? I'm guessing mine gets loose because it bounces so much.

With that sale for the SpiBelt, I may just buy them both at this point. The Spibelt is only $12.95 right now.

I had a single pouch iFitness belt for years and never really liked it that much. I used it for races to carry my camera, but it always rode up and was a big pain.

This past year, I bought this iFitness belt at a race expo. It's awesome! It holds my cell phone, my camera, gels, and my race number. Nice. And it doesn't ride up at all. I think the iFitness designs have gotten better with time.

I like the look of that one. Can you tell me about it a little? It says it has two pockets. Are they both zippered pockets? Is the front one their standard size pocket, how big is the second pocket? I know I need to edit how much stuff I carry with me. 1/2's are no problem, it's the full I'm more worried about.

Thanks so much!

I own both the ifitness and Spi belts. The SPI bounced a lot and rode up to my waist while running. I really like the Ifitness belt. I bought one of the hydration belts at an expo after I tested it running in place. I think the key is to wear it low and tight.

I have an iFitness belt as well. It's the double neoprene pouch.
I love it. I wear it for training runs over 4 miles and races where I carry:
android phone
small camera
GU

It has a pocket to hold your ID, room key, some money (I always carry at least $20 with me for the race because I get my medal engraved when I'm done).

I wear it as low as possible as well.
It only bounces when I wear slippery race shirts (like the Princess 1/2 marathon shirt).

Good luck deciding!

I only have experience with the spibelt since that is what I have.
Pros: Holds a lot of stuff, and typically doesn't bounce if I don't put my phone in it.
Cons: If I put my phone in the belt it tends to get bouncy, and I sometimes have to adjust it a few times to really find the right place to wear it and tightness before/during each race.

I like my spibelt because it saves me from the chipmunk cheek pocket look that I get when I have a lot of gels in my pockets. I really only use it to hold gels, maybe my camera, and chapstick as well. I wouldn't say it's the best thing ever, but it does the job well enough that I'm not interested in buying another race belt to replace it anytime soon.

I also have the iFitness double neoprene belt and really like it. I bought it for the Princess this year and though that's the only time I've worn it so far, it did great. Originally I was going for the SPI belt, but decided on the iFitness because of the double pockets and all the stuff that I wanted to carry with me. Mine didn't bounce or ride up a bit.

I ran with the iFitness belt on Sunday for 12 miles. It did really well and didn't get loose on me which is good. Also no bounce which is awesome. It did ride up though. So I'm wondering if it's either 1) not tight enough or 2) I'm putting it in the wrong spot and should wear it much lower. I noticed the last 2 miles I got fed up with it and pushed it way low, almost hip level. It stayed put for the rest of the 2 miles. So maybe my body is shaped in a way it needs to be lower?

Anyway, it worked much better than my old hydration belt. I did get a Spibelt also but I am thinking that would be better for 1/2 marathons since I normally don't bring much for those.

Thanks all for the help on this! If those of you that have an iFitness belt have any tips on how tight it should be or where to wear it, I'd appreciate it! :flower3:
