....you should go.

If there is anyone here on the board who's company you think you'd enjoy, go to a meet and meet them.

We're just back from Cedar Point and RiddleCon.

I met some folks who I've been conversing with here on the DIS for YEARS! And some folks who I've recently met here on the DIS.

Now I know how they smile, what they sound like when they laugh. I know little things like how they stand and walk, the color of their eyes, and how their eyes sparkle when they are having fun.

I know how they talk, and that is so important. With no time lag, with them sitting right in front of me, I hear the lilt in their voices and how they go from one subject to the other so easily. I've heard the nervousness in their voices when we first met and how it turned, quickly, to the calm assurance that is always present when friends talk.

Never again will they be a name on my computer screen.

They are alive with me forever now. :)

Wow Bernie....your "painting" of the experience shared at Riddlecon not only gave me a visual, but truly warmed my heart... knowing how exciting it was for me to even get to speak briefly with some of the attendees via my "riddle buddy" Carol, I can only imagine what it would have felt like to have been fortunate enough to have been there...

I look forward to being a part of our "happenings" in the future!

Thanks again!

Valerie

Believe me Bernie, I hope to meet all of you some time. Last year when I suggested Cedar Point, I fully expected to be able to do just that. I hope I have better luck with the timing of the next Riddle COn! Can we plan a WDW meet? I would love to see my DIS riddle buds in our favorite place!

Bernie I have to echo your thoughts it is amazing how easy it is talking to people in person after talking to them on the boards or on the phone

So very true, Bernie. A DIS meet is great, a big one, a little one. Always nice to meet people we visit with here regularly, and those we don't know so well too, that we can know them better. Over the years here, I have met several hundred DIS'ers, and many family members, always enjoyable.

And great seeing you again this weekend, Bernie, and what a treat to finally meet Sharon, along with Erin and Katie, a nice family you have.

"Never again will they be a name on my computer screen."

That is how I feel now that I've been to 2 Dis Cons and met some DISers, including OldKicker

I still think y'all are just a figment of my imagination.;)

Glad to hear you had fun, OK.:)

I'm hoping to meet my first DISer later this month!

:D ::::crosses fingers:::::D

Bernie, this is very well said :)

I certainly hope to meet DISers one day... in fact, never mind hope, I will!!!

To me, this weekend represented all the postive things the DIS is to me. . . great people who really like each other hanging out talking, sharing, commiserating, being generous, sharing a few laughs. . . well, actually, lots of laughs! :teeth:

It was just a wonderful weekend and I'm so glad we went- can't say enough good things about everyone and their families who were there. . . it was such pleasure all the way around, and as Bernie said, I highly recommend going to any DIS Meet you can. . :) :)

Great people. . . Good times. . . . . Fast Coasters. . . Cold Beer. . . this was RiddleCon-1 and I can't wait until the next one!! :teeth: :bounce:

Awww, that was beautifully said, OK, and right on the money.

So glad the weekend was a success! :)

Well said Bernie it was great to meet you at discon2...

Well said, OK. I was glad to meet you, and many others, through the phone. It sounded like you were having so much fun.

I have had a mini meet with one or two people, but never a whole group. Why don't you all hop on a plane to Italy and we can have an Italian DIS meet! :teeth:

I know just how you feel Bernie. Meeting everyone (including you) last Dec. was a very special time for me and the memories will be with me forever.

Speaking of which........are you going to be there this year? I'm planning another MVMCP Dis Meet on Dec. 4th and dinner at CP before the party.

Anyone else going the first week in Dec. who hasn't checked in on the DIS Meet Board?????

Linda

What a treat it was to spend a few days with great friends... eating, riding coasters, and LAUGHING!

DH told me he really enjoyed the time with everyone too! He is not a DISer - but he said that he THOROUGHLY enjoyed visiting with everyone. Such a relaxed and fun group - made him feel very welcome.

Very cool post, Mr. Bernie... so agree with you!!!

:)

Very well said
Hope to go to Riddle Con next year..
This year it happened to fall on the day of my company golf outing...
