Have you ever seen someone not be able to get the hang of it and not go around Epcot?

How far in advance can you book it and is there an age limit (like can a 13 yr. old do it?)

Thanks!

It's 16 and up - I know because my kids want to do it :( I suppose I can understand considering the price of these "toys". *grin* There's also a weight limit of 250 lbs which I did not know about before I called about it.

As mentioned, the minimum age is 16, and then a parent/guardian must sign the liability release form.

We did the 8:30 tour a couple of weeks ago. Two of the women in our group had a hard time but stuck it out to go around the World Showcase. One opted not to do some of the more difficult paths in some of the countries, and another took out a flower pot in Italy! They still enjoyed the tour though.

While coming back into Innoventions West, the 9:30 tour group was heading out, and a woman walked out of the room because she opted not to continue on - so it does happen.

This tour is well worth the money, and it is worth trying to master the Segway.

we did this in may. would do it again in a heartbeat!! i like the fact the "classes" are kept to a low number. there is a discount for AP holders and those paying w/a disney visa card. not sure if there is a DVC discount. if you are definitely wanting to book this tour, i would suggest calling ASAP. it does book quickly. enjoy!! :earboy2: :teleport:

I tried out a Segway at Innoventions at Disneyland last June. I was a bit unsteady on it at first because I was overcompensating in how I was leaning, and so I was sort of wobbling back & forth from front to back at first. Once I concentrated on it, I got the hang of it and went through the small obstacle course just fine. I'm one who doesn't like to "drive" on things like this and I don't like even being the driver on the Water Mice, but if I could do it, I think MOST people could! My DH really insisted I try it, and I'm glad I did. We're booked for the Segway tour on our WDW trip next June!

When we left the training room, and were heading towards World Showcase, I lost control of my Segway going down a hill and banged into the railing and fell off. I didn't hurt myself, but I was a little embarrassed. I did great with the manuevering in the practice room and in the world showcase but had a little trouble with that hill. My husband thought it was hilarious.
