If you're coming to Vero today, bring your mittens.

We are coming in December. How is the weather during this time period? I have a ten year old and a thirteen year old. We plan on visiting Kennedy Space Center. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Becky

My generic response.

They have a nice pool & Lighthouse waterslide, a hot jet pool, miniature golf, exercise room, game rooom, ping pong, bike rentals, The Green Cabin Room (bar/restaurant) has 2nd floor covered deck that has a fantastic view of the ocean and is a nice place to relax with your favorite beverage. It also has live entertainment in the evenings. At night they have a campfire / s’more roast. You can rent a small catamaran or jet-ski for ocean fun. Across the street they have a lake and nature trail, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Disney built a private tunnel under the road to access this area.

Five minutes away is Pelican Island and a wildlife education center. Also minutes away is Sebastian Inlet were the Indian River meets the ocean. There are river excursions where you can see dolphins, manatee, and tons of other types of wildlife. About an hour away is Cape Canaveral, (where the Magic and Wonder dock), the Kennedy Space Center, and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge with walking and driving tours.

Hope you have a wonderful time.

Yep, bitter cold in Miami this morning too. 61 degrees!

Time to break out the sweaters and ski parkas!

I would actually welcome 61 degrees right now Jim ! We're not due to get out of the 40's today (that's for our HIGH). But I totally see how native Floridians would think 61 was showing the need for a parka ! It's mild to us in the northeast---like a spring day.... :rotfl:

Floridafam,
Is 49 the morning/night low or your "high" for the day ? I do agree....that is very cold. We are about 10 degrees below normal for the northeast, and I understand this is a very strong cold front that has hit the country. It's affecting alot of areas. My friend just left Orlando on Sunday for the DVC Member cruise but she said it was 90 in WDW on Sat/Sun ? So I'm wondering if 49 is your "low" and you are warming up during the afternoon ? We are stuck in the 30's and 40's all day long for the past couple of days.

Ok....that's a little better ! But it is a big change from the 90 degrees Orlando had over the weekend. I'm assuming they cooled down as well ?
Stay warm down there in the Sunshine state Floridafam and Jim :sunny: 71 degrees would be a downright heatwave to me right now ! :rotfl:

There were some areas in central Florida that experienced a record-high on Saturday, and are experiencing a record low today!

(We climbed to around 93º on Saturday, and woke up to 48º this morning!)

Wow....that's got to be a shock to the system for your Floridians ! I know my friend said she was too hot on Saturday at Epcot. At least 48 is your "low" and not your "high" for the day. 48 is our "high" for today in the Philly area.
I really think this cold front has affected a good portion of the country.....parts that don't normally get affected by them.

Oh Man! That's only your morning temp! I wasn't thinking clearly this morning. You are getting up to a 'nice summer day temperature' here! I'm just praying for sun at any temperature! :sunny:

Have a great day! :goodvibes

Yes literal frost on the pumpkin here in New England. It does feel chilly, and the leaves are coming down. That four letter word *snow* will be happening long before I'm ready for it.
