I could not believe that you guessed that we bought into DVC! But unfortunately neither OKW or BLT were offered - we bought SSR. And we have never even considered staying there.

I am already finding ways to spend all those points - another area of Disney I need to learn about!

The last time I seriously considered buying into DVC only SSR was available and several friends who are owners always said, "love your home resort"...well, never a fan of SSR so I didn't buy. Sometimes I'm sorry because at the time could have paid in full and would only have the yearly dues...now I'm lucky to afford POP ...something tells me I made the wrong decision back then!!!

Your first DVC stay at BLT and it is not even your home resort - you and Tom must live a charmed life! Just so very happy for you!!!

You surely did bring great FE gifts! You will love staying at SSR if you ever do; you can WALK to WPE, lol! Just ask to stay in the Congress Park area for the shortest walk and a fantastic view of DTD. I love sitting on our couch and seeing the lights of DTD at night.

Karin, I did not mind missing the concert, DVC gave us time to visit with you a little longer. I definitely will consider joining if I ever have the extra money to do it. I is great for people that plan to go often. I am sure we can go on the cruise in 2013 as long as we can get in at the cheapest rate. Next year's rates were just too much at this point for us. Mick said he would prefer the 7 night cruise because the 4 night seems to be over before you know it and we didn't do everything. It is a beautiful ship, I can't believe you will be on three Dream sailings next year!!!! How wonderful!!

Also was it Aki at Palo you told us to say hello to??? If it was we did, we saw her walking by our table.

I am very relieved you aren't cross with us about the concert - they really said the presentation would take about an hour - we would not have gone to it, had we known it would take THAT long!

I really hope that 2013 rates are not as outragous as they are right now. I would so love to do a Caribbean cruise and especially if you were to join us!

Hm, I don't recall the name Aki, but I am sure I talked about Ana (our assistant server) or maybe Abie (who we had a blast with at Skyline).

Oh my, you should have bought DVC when you had the chance to! I am not the biggest fan of SSR either, but we already LOVE it, because it allows us to stay at BLT!
But, you should not fret over DVC, your beautiful little Sophia is a wonderful gift and she is yours forever!

We had a fantastic trip, Nicki!
We absolutely LOVED the DREAM, and can't wait to go back.

I think Tom and I were as surprised as most of you guys were that we bought DVC. But once you see it all laid out, it just made sense.

Oh my, do I know how much time planning a WDW trip takes ...... hm, that reminds me, I better go and do some planning myself, we leave again in short 150 days!

We made most of them ourselves, the "Haribo" bags were bought and we had the postcards printed, everything else is home made!
When you get to do that cruise, be sure to sign up for a FE exchange, they are the ultimate fun!

I really hope people liked our FE gifts. Everyone gave great gifts, we got so many wonderful things! When we left I had about a suitcase full of gifts to take with me and was sure we would have some room in our suitcase on the way home - NO way, it was as full on the way back as it had been on the way there.

I never thought about the fact that we could walk to DTD from SSR! Thanks for pointing that out - for me the Treehouses were a huge incentive initially. But WPE in walking distance is an even better incentive!

I have wondered about DVC... but since I can only make it one time a year and try and find the deepest discounts available, I figure I do better not going DVC. Maybe I am wrong? I imagine it gives you a sense of always having a part of Disney with you since you KNOW you will be going back. I like to think I will go back...but getting dh to go again may be a struggle.

Ann, sometimes real life gets in the way of our DIS life! I so understand that you have other things to do as well.

But thanks for sharing our excitement about becoming DVC members. If you had asked me a little over a week ago if I would EVER buy into DVC I would have laughed at you. But then while we were listening to the presentation it really made sense for us.

So we thought about it long and hard and signed up it!

Captain Henry made sure we could go to Castaway Cay on our third cruise again, so it wasn't all that bad - the blessing of doing multiple cruises. But we really felt bad for the people who only went on this one cruise.

I was pretty happy with this year's FE gifts, and I hope people liked them too! We received SO many wonderful gifts, it was unbelievable! We took photos of them, but I am sure we missed one or two!

We are very pleased with our commitment so far - we'll stay at BLT on points first time in February, can't wait.
I wasn't in for it in the beginning as well, but once they lay it all out, it really made sense, even for us!

Tell me about being busy after we got home. I really hope life will just slow down again soon, but with us going away for the weekend, we will be playing catch up again, once I get home on Sunday evening!

Should be starting the TR this weekend We love love loved the cruise and the only regret we have is that it wasn't longer. We are defo cruise converted now and I really really hope that a longer one is not far off the horizon for us next year

Just replied to your thread, can't wait for your TR but I might be late joining as we are going away for the weekend.
I am SO happy that you loved the cruise and didn't I tell you to book at least the 4 day one?
I really hope you booked a dummy cruise to secure the discount and OBC since you are thinking about cruising again! BTW, we are on the Aug 24 - 29 and the Aug 29 - Sept 2 ones, any chance you might vacation a little earlier next summer?
