Because you cashed in all those points and it was free:) , how would you plan on getting to the parks ?

1. Try the "Timon parking lot shuttle"
2. Ride the ART
3. Hoof it down Harbor

4. Other ????????

I've stayed there a few times... Take the shuttle up and back when it's running, a cab once late at night and walked once. Walking is fine but when you consider how much you walk at the park the shuttle makes more sense to me.

We've stayed there quite a few times. Out the parking garage, past the Convention center into Timon. The shuttle has not been running a few times in the mornings. It is a little hike walking all the way if thats the case. Also now that they started the construction in the parking lot the pick up point is further away. Thanksgiving we used ART for the first time,it was "ICKY". We still prefer the Timon tram and walk.

If the tram is not running, is the parking lot still a shortcut over harbor ?

we've stayed there many times & always use the timon lot. in our experience, the tram is rarely not in service, but the walk from the parking lot is not bad either....u can cut straight across the whole empty lot. we've also walked down harbor, when we wanted to take the kids to mcD's, but it is a longer walk...do-able....but longer. when going to timon, though, walk between the hotel & the convention center and across katella....not out to harbor from the front of the hotel. we also drive in sometimes, too, and then just take the tram from whichever lot we go to.

The Timon lot is not always open, it depends on when you go really. Our first Feb trip it wasn't open at all, it was open the following weekend, the weekend in March it was open, on our Jan. trip the time or two we parked it wasn't open. Just an fyi. If it's not open they have no trams.

I have no advice on walking but woo hoo on a FREE hotel!! I love that!!

we also turned in Alaska points and have free flights into JohnWayne ! And, we got our adult passes for the child price ! Woo hoo indeed !

I really like the Hilton for the hotel, and we have HHonors, too, so I think you will like it that aspect. It's one of the nicest in the area. I'm not as happy with the location-- it's tricky. We stayed there once with a convention and the convention actually provided a bus to DL, which was really nice. One time we walked and didn't have kids so it was fine, but far. I'd stay there now if it was closer or had it's own shuttle. Enjoy your trip!!!

Could someone share specifics with regards to how you got to the parks and whether or not it was a hassel? We are considering staying here next week with a 4 yr old and would ideally like to not have to drive to the parks...Thank you

I stayed there one year, many years ago. I for sure wouldn't walk with kids and that's usually what I have with me...5 and 6 year olds. I'd use the ART now because I'm just a few years older....young older, but still older.:rotfl:

If I have my own car...Dland parking lot for me!

I stayed there in January. Got the Hilton on Priceline for $48. Parking Garage is $15 so thats $63 a night. Very night hotel thats cheaper than Motel 6 ($75 at that time).

We parked in the Hilton Garage then drove to Mickey and Friends as we have AP's with free parking. The Timon lot is ok if you can park near the tram. If along Katella then its a bit of a walk to the tram. Construction has closed the stop near Katella.
