As Rev. Dh begins interviewing, I get the task of the relocating. We were pretty clueless when we moved here, so help me make some good decisions this time.

I know the general area...Help me use the internet to my advantage to find out about schools, houses, neighborhoods. What other things do I need to know?

HELP ME........

Schools woud be my main concern, youre allready going for the Church lol so that takes out my second concern ;) If you go www.realtor.com you can research the area youre wanting to move to they have links for community resources.
Contact the area's Chamber of Commerce they are a great resource! Also find a realtor they will always have welcome packets with all sorts of community info.

You will also want to know about community events like fairs and festivals that they offer. Also crime rates can be found through the local police stations.

( I would also want to know how good the shopping is but thats just me ;) )

If you know where you are going or at least considering just punch in the name of the town at www.google.com and see what you get! Usually the Chamber will have a website, as will most realtors, and the school district.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out! :)

I have moved from state to state 4 times and the realtors are really good resources. Ask them also for maps of the area.

After we have arrived, gotten settled a little I take off and explore. I map out a path and drive it to see what is available there. I keep doing this until I am familiar with the are and then I feel "home". Nothing better than being able to give directions to DH about how to get to the nearest hardware store.
