How much food do you allot for 2 adults? If we were not to do any ts at all, and just cs do you think $75 per day for 2 adults is enough to budget?? Were not really the kind of people that absolutely have to do ts. Maybe one (which will be the spirit of aloha)
Just curious how much you allot yourself for feeding time! lol

We usually do a CS breakfast and lunch, some snacks and a TS for dinner. I would say breakfast and lunch $20-25 each, $20-30 for snacks and alchoholic beverages and $75-140 for a nice TS dinner with appies and desserts and cocktails.

know if you're staying on site or not. Disney introduced a quick service plan for people not wanting to eat at table service locations. The plan gives you two CS credits per night booked, two snack credits and a refillable mug for each participant. The cost is $29.99 per day for an adult. That should serve as a guide for what it would cost you.

For each trip, I sit down to calculate whether a dining plan is a good option for us based on on what we have planned to do. As part of that, I estimate the costs for each meal whether a TS or a CS. The QS dining plan doesn't seem to make sense for us. We don't use the refillable mugs. We would likely use the two snack credits. If we did use the two CS credits, I may approach the price of the plan but my wife definitely would not. She's as likely to eat a kids meal as an adult meal. One meal last trip we shared a large pizza at the resort. That was probably $17 and it fed two adults and two kids.

Below is a link to the QS dining plan brochure as a reference.

All personal opinion and experience here. If you both eat a full meal at each sitting, the $75 may be about right. Most times we figure food at breakfast is about $7 each. Lunch, we tend to split a full combo meal and get separate drinks and share a dessert. So, that tends to be about $20 all total. That is about $35 spent so far. We tend to do the same thing for dinner, share a combo meal, but get both a dessert and an appetizer to share. So, we usually plan on about $25-30 for dinner. Then add a snack on during the day for each of us. We tend to throw away food if we each get our own meal, except for breakfast.

I travel solo and I can easily go with $40 a day on days when I don't do TS, which is 3 CS meals and a snack (maybe even two!) With two of you, there are places where a single meal can easily be split (Tangierine Cafe at Morocco, for instance), so I think $75 is doable. I would check the menus at http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm to get an idea of prices.

It depends on your eating habits. If you get full meals that might be a good estimate, but if you share meals it might save more $$$.

We typically split a breakfast platter and add on a cinnamon roll and 2 drinks. For lunch we split a combo meal and might add a drink and an extra side item, but for dinner we have our own meal. We usually do TS, but we have done CS for dinner and when paying OOP we usually don't get dessert. So at Earl of Sandwich, we would get 2 sandwiches, chips, and drinks. We would also have a snack or two (usually splitting those too). I'd estimate $50-75/day.

Thanks everyone. I am staying on site at pop century. My mom thinks counter service for all meals for 11 nights is perfectly fine. Not sure if we will get tired of it or not, but I guess I will find out! lol. I have went through the dining plan and if I were to do any... i would go deluxe. But then on the boards I have heard that a first time trip to disney isn't worth doing the deluxe plan because it would take away too many park hours. Although we would do a character breakfast, a ts late dinner and cs lunch.
My two concerns doing the dining plan:
1. We will be tired of cs if we eat that the whole time we are there.
2. Paying for the dining plan and they charge my credit card for meals they shouldn't have and then I have that problem to deal with.

We're doing counter service dining plan for 10 days (also at Pop Century). One dinner out of pocket, Chef Mickey's.

I've had some concerns about "will we get sick of it?" but I think if you study menus prior to going, and have some REALLY good options (like Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, etc) that it's doable. I know we'll do Cosmic Ray's for chicken and ribs, Flametree Barbeque for ribs, maybe do the Animal Kingdom "picnic" thing they have now.

Personally I could eat at Earl of Sandwich daily. It was THAT GOOD. Oh there is something at Epcot, in the Land, that has stuff like salmon or a grilled pork chop as a counter service. I think it's called Sunshine Seasons. Well I am babbling and not making my point....which is...that counter service can be somewhat diverse if you plan right.

We used the CS dining plan on our trip in Feb/Mar. I was also concerned about eating all counter service meals and getting extremely bored. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and convenient it was. We ate mostly breakfast and a late lunch/early dinner. For breakfast always got the big platter and was happy to get the extra beverage vice dessert. That worked out nicely for our style. I also really enjoyed the two snacks. There are so many choices for snacks and we were able to try a lot of different items that we normally wouldn't. We did do Ohana,Sci-Fi, RFC, and T-Rex OOP in the eight days, but it balanced our meals nicely.

Just from personal experience with 3 people dining at Table Service ...we paid an average of $120 a night not including the tip. That is without alcholic beverages, but with dessert.
