If you went SOLO

I went solo a couple of weeks ago and loved it! . It was so great to do whatever I wanted to do! Definitely see the new festival of fantasy parade and also utilize any single rider lines!!

Solo is so fun... I have done it several time. I love going with DH and even prefer it but I also love love love my SOLO time. Do what you want. I never plan. I stay in the Epcot area, hit a park in the morning, Pool time in the afternoon, more park time and then find a seat at the bar of an awesome TS like Flying Fish or Bluezoo or even CA Grill and order an app and salad for dinner.

I people watch, stroll the Boardwalk and don't have to worry if the people with me are having fun

Go to the character breakfast at Crystal Palace
Go to the parks as early as I want
Stay on property
Take my sweet time in the shops
Get ice cream any time I want

Plan to hit all the rides, see all the shows... Visit as many characters, take to all the CMs, visit all the shops n enjoy every moment!!

I have three wonderful children but they are all far apart in ages. So the idea of going SOLO once is a bit of a Disney fantasy. If I ever found myself doing it, I know exactly what I would be doing.

My camera bag would be with me with a host of lenses and other shutter-stuff and I would take my time photoing the stuff that makes Disney great probably from Dawn Midnight.

I would like to e-publish a book sometime about going to Disney as adults and this would be a great way to do it.

Plus, you bet I'd have a Casey's Corner Stop, a pint and pub meal at the Rose & Crown, and a late snack wherever I would want.

I love that WDW has so many family, couple and kid oriented elements, but so many of them can be experienced as an adult without feeling like you are missing love ones for very long.

I didn't take the time to read everyone's comments and opinions, so people might've already said some of these. I would use it as an opritunity to go to restaurants that you wanted to go to but never did, and ride rides that you never could because you spent time on what your family wanted to do. The beach resort is a great place to visit because it has a (fake) beach (no swimming BUT) where they play movies and you can sit by the water in a hammock or just in a beach chair. It's relaxing, and something you probably didn't get to do. There are also different things in World Showcase in Epcot to do. You can visit the gift shops, (the Japanese one is my personal favorite by FAR) or go to some of the restaurants. It's very fun and a great way to get a little experience of places from around the world. Epcot also has a Coke museum which is very interesting and fun to go to. You can taste different Cokes from around the world. Some are good, some are bad. You could also spend some time by the pool or just in the hotel. Usually, you don't get to see it much since you're in the parks constantly. Your choice. There's also some really cool firework displays late at night and cool shows at Epcot in World Showcase that show things about other places around the world. They're free. In Magic Kingdom, there are TONS of amazing gift shops. I would definitely check as many of those out as possible. maybe you'd even see some stuff for your family. I'm sure there's a lot more to say, but I think I included quite a bit. I hope you have a great time!

I've gone solo many times and absolutely LOVE it!

The best thing is that you can do everything and ANYTHING that you want to! Go on rides that maybe the rest of your family doesn't like, you can stop whenever you want to have a snack, meet a character, do anything, take advantage of that!!

I didn't get a chance to read everything so far, but my main comment is to enjoy!!

Enjoy touring on your own schedule. Get up when you want, leave when you want.

I did see the photo ideas mentioned. A great place to get sign pictures is in Animal Kingdom. They're everywhere, and many are quite clever.

Look for Hidden Mickey's.

Just walk aimlessly around World Showcase. Especially at night before Illuminations...then just stop right before the torches are "blown" out.

Again, especially in World Showcase, talk to the cast members. Most of the college program kids (in all parks) are enthusiastic and happy to chat.

If you have a car and a rainy day, go to the outlets for awhile.

Take advantage of some of the single rider lines. Test Track is a great one.

Eat where you want and when you want.

And most of all, have fun!

If you went to Disney SOLO, what would you do? .... What sort of things can I do that I normally wouldn't do with my family?

I have gone solo 5 times now and here's what I do.. whatever the heck I want whenever I want to do it!

Do what YOU want to do.. that's the magic of a solo trip.

I have a trip coming up in October.. my first non-solo trip in 6 consecutive years. My travel-mate has only paid me $350 out of the $1200 she owes.. I am secretly (and feeling guilty about it) hoping she will tell me she can't afford to go, so I can go alone.

I have gone solo many times and do whatever I want.

I do alot of picture taking, hit the same rides that I like over and over again, eat ice cream for breakfast, shop, and if I get tired of the crowds go back to my resort for a nice nap. I also eat at places my family has no interest in.

I've got a solo trip booked for September and I sure am hoping I can keep the reservation! I really want to check out Diagon Alley at Universal then too. I love my solo trips.

If you went to Disney SOLO, what would you do? I'll be there for three days next week (just booked today!) staying at CBR. I can't book FP+ until the day I get there (CM Ticket) and I don't really care to book things. Since I'm on my own I sort of want to wing it. With the exception of probably doing rope drop....or maybe right after rope drop to miss the A&E crowd. What sort of things can I do that I normally wouldn't do with my family?

I normally go solo. I love it. You go on a ride when you want to, if you don't you don't. You don't have to please 4 people, just yourself. If you are tired, you can leave, you don't have to force yourself to go further just because your spouse and children are full of energy. So much good about just having that freedom.

I have just booked my first solo trip for August, and I was feeling a little nervous about it. After reading through this thread, I could not be more excited! (I mean, I was already excited, because it's WDW) but I can see how going solo is going to be such a different trip than all my past trips and I am so pumped about it!

Go at a more leisurely pace.
Go early ride a few rides then return to the resort for some pool time, dinner and then fireworks.
I take some time, especially at EC, sit with a nice beverage, just enjoy the surroundings and people watch. It really makes a difference on how you view the park. I also talk to other guest. I have had the best conversations with strangers who become disney friends.

This thread has me thinking about a solo trip which I have never done to WDW.

I would love to take my time and walk around the World Showcase, walk into a store and not feel rushed to get out and I would want to visit the parks at night and stay late. I usually travel with my DS so shopping and let nights at the parks are never in the cards.
