LOL!

You know, it's more a state of mind than the fact that I'm aging...

But don't worry for me, that state of mind is going to dissipate soon, I'm sure...

The Florida :sunny: 's gonna help!!

Please, please, please...36 can't be old!!!

Welcome Bridget68 to the boards from another Montrealer....

We are a family of 4 my wife and I (ony 3 yrs older than you), and our two daughters (ages 6 and 8)

So, PLEASE don't tell us you feel old......You're not.....

I found as you did, this is a great place to share thoughts on a topic that we all love. Glad you are joining the conversations...

AND.....don't worry about your english, you are trying and that is great. I deal with a few different countries in my business and when people from Japan, or Korea, or Germany apologize for their English, I always point out to them that their English is MUCH better than my Japanese (or whatever), and I should be thanking them for making the effort.......ainsi à vous je dis, merci de votre effort, vous font très bien

We travel down as frequently as we can and so we always find good ways to make our trips as economical as we can. Things like travelling from Burlington, Vermont can save you hundreds of dollars, or renting DVC points (as we did before we purchased) is another way that you can save.

Please always feel free to PM me if you have any questions or comments.

Take care Bridget, and welcome again.

PS - We are also going to be there in Jan for News years and coming home on Jan 7... When will you be travelling down, if I may ask?

Hey Thanks! It's comforting to know that we're accepted.

It's so funny, now because of me, everybody is telling what age they are!!!

You said:

Things like travelling from Burlington, Vermont can save you hundreds of dollars
Do you mean that it's cheaper to take a flight from Vermont than from Montreal? Because I already thought of doing that...

And you asked:

We are also going to be there in Jan for News years and coming home on Jan 7... When will you be travelling down, if I may ask?
You surely may. We're departing dec. 30, we'll be travelling for 2 days and a half. We'll arrive in Orlando by Jan 1st and we'll stay at the RPR for 6 nights. We'll depart on the 7th and we'll be travelling again for 2 days and a half. So if God wants it, we'll hit home on Jan 9th.

And thank you again, you're very kind.

Hi Bridget68 :wave2: Welcome!

I never thought of flying out of Burlington but that would probably save a lot of money. I wonder is there are many flights to orlando from there???

I'm thinking of going to orlando at the begining of January. Maybe I'll see you there :D

TONS of flights out of Burlington, connecting to many major hubs.....

The best we have done so far is 67.00 each way USD per person, so that works out to 536.00 USD, or 670.00 CDN..... via Jet Blue.

If I recall correctly we took an 11:00 AM flight (so no hotel the night before was required, and left Mtl by car at about 7:30). We connected at JFK in New York, and arrived in Orlando at about 3:00 PM.

Parking for the week was about 65.00 USD. And that was great too... For an extra charge they will clean your car and have it warmed and ready for your arrival time.

This coming trip we've done things SLIGHTLY differently, we are leaving from Burlington, and returning to Mtl. My SIL will drive us down, but I looked and there are limo services that will drive you down for suprisingly little.

Even leaving from Burlington and returning to Mtl, we still saved a bundle, I think the reason is that we avoid most of the expensive Canadian departure taxes. (Note - Jet Blue do no fly into Canada, you'll have to use another carrier)

And lastly, this is easy to do yourself when using Expedia or Travelocity, just search for the "Multiple city' or advanced search/selection criteria for flights, and then just select BTV (For Burlington) and YUL for Montreal as your return city, couldn't be easier!!!

Anyway, we're sold on travelling from Burlington, Vt, the savings alone makes the 2 hr drive worth it..... We've used the saved money from the first trips to purchase Annual Pases and this wasy we've actually been able to squeeeze a 'free' trip (based upon original budgets).

PM me if you have any specific questions.......

Welcome Welcome Welcome! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'm so glad you have found us. I've already enjoyed "chatting" with you on the trip report board and look forward to getting to know you more! A word of warning however.......trip planning can be VERY addictive! ;) Happy planning! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks!

I'm glad I found you too!

But I may not be on the net that often for a while because I'm quite busy with my studies. :( But I'll be back!

I already experienced that trip planning can be very addictive, and I'm afraid I'll need a therapy soon! :teeth:
