I'm sick of dial-up service & have signed up for Roadrunner. What are your opinions & experiences with RR's service & speed? Thanks.

I've used Roadrunner for more than 4 years now and I love it. Love love love it. My service is bundled with digital cable and I pay $88 a month. Customer service is excellent, I've never waited more than 15 minutes to speak to cust service and I've had 2 outages during my service period.

Another thing I like with RR is that they give EZ Armor free. It's a firewall and antivirus software that you can download right off their site. We have 4 computers in the house connected to the router and RR tech support even helped me with my router issues one time even when they say it's not supported by them.

oogieboogie couldn't have said it better! :teeth:

Road Runner is the best service you can get for the price. At comparable prices, DSL is over 5 times slower than RR. I love my 3.67 Mbps Connection :D

oogieboogie....Do you have anything else besides the RR and digital cable to pay $88?

I also have RR, digital cable, and was told by the Time Warner office here in my town that I had to also get Standrad service along with a set top terminal box to get digital cable. After taxes the final total is over $100.

I told DH paying this kind of money for cable every month is to much. During the week the tv is used mainly by the kids.

For the ones, like me, who have had RR for awhile, wouldn't it be nice if they could give us a deal for a change. I get so tired of hearing if you sign up for RR you get 6 months at half price. They sure weren't doing anything like this when we signed up. I think all we got was free installtion, but that is also included in the half off deal. For a change they should think about the RR customers that they already have.

I wouldn't ever go back!!!! We spend less on Road Runner than we would for dial up and the extra line (or two) we'd need. The speed is great! I admit though, we had some trouble with the line to the house (really a cable issue as well) but they didn't give up until it was fixed... took a while and was a bit frustrating but they also gave us our money back until we were up and running w/o any trouble. I think, over all the service was pretty good.

Another happy Roadrunner customer here. Its a little pricey at $45 per month, but its reliable and fast. Roadrunner tech support has really impressed me as well. I have nothing but good things to say about Roadrunner.

I have standard cable and RR through Time warner. I pay 86.00 amonth and i wouldn't change. I had trouble with television cables coming loose outside, they were here in a couple hours to fix it. I couldn't say enough good things about the service

I was paying $105 a month before on the bundle because it had HBO with it, but I called them up one day and said to them:

Look, I'm seriously thinking of switching to satellite cause $100 a month is just to much for me. I would like to know if you could give me a better price to keep me since I really like your service, but it's just too steep right now.

I also told them that I don't watch HBO, so they took that off, and then they came back with a quote of $88 total (taxes included) which was digital cable (with the set top box) and RR combined.

I've had this price close to a year now. Three years ago I was paying $85 a month, then it went up to $105 a month, now it's back down to $88. So, I'm pretty satisfied right now.

I would look into DSL, usually cheaper than roadrunner. Currently SBC is charging $26.95 a month for DSL. May not be available in your area (not in mine)

I pay alot for my road runner service also, but the customer service is excellent.

we love RoadRunner. Another happy customer for over 4 years. I's tech support is awesome and it is sooo speedy! Much, much better than DSL or Dial-up.

We've had RR for several years now. Overall, I think the service is good. It is expensive at $45/month, but if you were to dial-up service at $10 plus an extra phone line at $20, you're not too far off. The speed and not having to connect each time is worth it.

I do think that they've oversold the server in our area, though. There are certain times of the day (around 5:30 when people are getting home from work, for example) that it is SLOW. But, most the time it works well.

Love it. I've had RR for about two years and DSL for about two years before that. My first three years online were dial-up. RR is blazing fast compared to dial-up, and about three times faster than my DSL. My bill with digital cable plus HBO is around $115 a month. I've been pretty happy with their support too. I just got a notice from them about their new digital phone service and plan to sign up for it this weekend. It looks to be about $60 a month cheaper than SBC, with all the same features I have now.

Love it! We live in Upstate NY. We have RR and just about every cable channel known to man for $119. We even have the digital recording cable box. Almost as good as TIVO. I tape EVERYTHING now! lol.

That is quite a bit of money to be paying Time Warner every month, but the package we have is the best deal. We thought about getting rid of some of the movie channels, but if we got rid of Showtime, Cinemax, all of the HBOs except the original one and Starz we would only be saving a few dollars every month.

Roadrunner is the one thing I splurge on just for myself. I tried going back to dial up about a year ago and just couldn't handle it. I'm spoiled. :p

We've had a couple outages but they didn't last long. It's so much better than getting that busy signal when dialing up or getting kicked off while downloading something that will take 2 whole days! My Mom has dialup. When she needs a big file she downloads it here and throws it on a cd.
