if someone transfers points to you do then become yours or does the original owner still have to make the reservations?

They are yours to make the res but they are suppose to retain the Home resort.

Once the points reside in your account, they are yours to do with as you wish. The transaction cannot be reversed and the full control of the points is yours.

Enjoy! :)

Okay, I have contracts at SSR and AKV. Can I transfer points to myself? Would I get the full-on 11-month window for all of the points?

No you will not get the 11 month window for all the points only the one that you are trying to reserve - ie. SSR poiints have home resort 11 month window for SSR no matter where they show up and AKV has 11 month home resort window for AKW. The points are supposed to retain their resort ID and are to be used based on that. It would throw off the number of points available at each resort if you could use them for the 11 month window for SSR or AKV if they were not the points for those resorts. THere would be no sense in having an 11 month window if people could do this. You can however combine them at the 7 month window.

Thanks, I thought so. Your explanation makes perfect sense. I was thinking of getting a GV at AKV for our family. I could get it for a few nights at 11-mo, and get a GV at SSR at 11-mo for the remainder.
