Hey guys. My Spanish teacher gave us a poem and our only directions were to "change the adjectives". I'm stuck. If you could help me with this in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Here's the poem:

Yo
Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni sociable ni callada,
ni generosa ni tacana
Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni atrevida ni prudente,
ni ordenada ni desordenada;
pero yo...
Yo soy...
Yo soy !Yo!

Thanks in advance! :upsidedow

Thanks. :D I'm just really confused. I converted it to English, but I still doesn't make any sense.

An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun...in this case "I" (Yo)

You want to change the bolded words to describe you...

Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni sociable ni callada,
ni generosa ni tacana
Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni atrevida ni prudente,
ni ordenada ni desordenada;
pero yo...
Yo soy...
Yo soy !Yo!

The bold words seem to be semi contridicting themselves. And the last line says "I am I!." So you are kind of saying you cant be defined.

Good luck!

BTW: "ni" means neither/neither nor (ni _ ni) in english.

Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni sociable ni callada,
ni generosa ni tacana
Yo...
Yo no...
Yo no soy...
ni atrevida ni prudente,
ni ordenada ni desordenada;
pero yo...
Yo soy...
Yo soy !Yo!

The bolded words are the adjectives.

At the end it makes no sense.
but I...
I am...
I am !I!

Am I the only on confused?

Yo...
At the end it makes no sense.
but I...
I am...
I am !I!

Am I the only on confused?

In the beginning it says...I, I not, I am not.

And the ends is saying But I, I am, I am I!

Like I am me, not a defenition.

THANKS SO MUCH! It makes sense now. :)

But one more question, do I want the bolded words to say what I am or what I am not. But if I'm "not neither sociable", does that mean I am sociable or I'm not... :confused3

Spanish uses the double negative. My interpretation is you are saying... I am neither sociable nor ..... (I forget the next word).

Like an easy example is "I am neither hot nor cold." You are not one thing but your are also not the opposite of it either.
