Have you ever used any of these Flat Irons, Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium 1 1/4inch, Brocato Vibrastrait or the t3 Singlepass?
Thanks

Another vote for CHI. If you have an ULTA or Bed Bath and Beyond nearby, you can use coupons for the CHI.

I have never used one of those straighteners but it is very important to use hairspray, heat protectant, etc. before you straighten it. I too have thick curly hair and it takes a lot of heat to get our hair straight and it can easily damage it. Thats a tip a hairdresser gave me one time.:)

These brands are actually higher quality then the CHI. My DD has been using the CHI for years and hers broke when I went to Ulta I was talking to manager about saving my Ulta points to buy my daughter a new CHI and she said she would not recommend the CHI for her thick, long, curly hair. I have a CHI but I have thinner slightly wavy hair so it is easy to straighten but it takes my daughter
1.5 hrs. to straighten hers.

I wish someone knew something about these flat irons if they are really better I would happily buy one but I also don't want to waste my money.

Go to folica.com and read the reviews on the flat irons you mentioned. I know in recent year, CHI has moved their manufacturing to a different country and the quality of CHI has gone down. My hairdresser switched to a FHI flat iron and LOVES it. I am considering one of those when my CHI bites the dust.

Same as the others. I have an older Chi (got it about 5 or 6 years ago) that I use, along with Aquage Beyond Thermal heat protectant, and I love it. You can *sort of* see in my profile pic how straight my curly hair gets when I use it. :)

My SIL, who is a stylist, told me that there are better ones out there; however, I don't know which one(s). Do you have a stylist you could ask?

I have the Babyliss from about 6 years ago. I started using it when I was a stylist and really liked the results I got with it. I still use it occasionally. It is also really good for curling.
If you are using a good product you probably won't notice too much difference between the CHI and and Babyliss. For personal use, you just don't want a cheap one. (I might draw the line at something that retails around $50 being ok) Just don't go for that whole "wet to straight" thing because it does insane damage to your hair follicles.
If they have changed their manufacturing in the last 5 years I wouldn't really know.

Chi is no longer good, they are cheaply made and overproduced. Babybliss is great if you have very thick hair, they get super hot. They get too hot for my hair, but if you have thicker hard to iron hair they are great. Haven't tried the other ones you mentioned. What kind of hair do you have? I have thick hair with a natural wave/frizz, very hard to straighten. I have had luck with the Sedu, but it stopped heating up. CHI used to be the best, they are no longer the same quality.

We love the Cortex brand in our house and we have 3 of them. I have mostly straight, easy to straighten hair, but DD 17 has very heavy thick really curly hair and it works quick and easy without damaging her hair. We have been using cortex irons for about 4 years now and they are great. Marshalls and TJMaxx sometimes have them for $40-$50, they retail for $149.

OP i havent heard of any of the ones you listed ONLY because i am not up on beauty supply products. I use a Chi and am no longer thrilled with it. My hair salon uses INFRASHINE which myself and my daughter love. Its easy single pass to straight hair on both our thick thick wavy hair. I just havent brought myself to buy one yet. Reviews are good.

I have thic, curly hair and I use a revlon hair straightner I bought at Target for $15. It works great for me and only takes 20 to 30 minutes to do. I also use Suave Heat Protector Spray and Sami Silk straightening gloss

I'm trying to buy it at Ulta because I have saved enough points with the frequent buyer program to get it for free.

It is for my daughter she has thick long spiral curly hair.

Those of you who have used the Babyliss one complaint I've seen is it gets hot where you hold it, is this true?

There is no comparison between a professional and non professional flat iron. A professional one takes one pass per section of hair and leaves a shiny straight section of hair. There is a big difference. With the type of hair I have, the one you mentioned would not cut it at all. I tried them all.

When i was at the states I got a 'her styler'. its really good! gets my hear silky straight! I've also got a GHD (same as the chi, just different name) which I love aswell, but I prefer using it for curling my hair :)
