If you just order tickets without a resort reservation or dining plan do you get a sent a MagicBand? If so, does this mean you can make your FP+ selections 30 days out?

Thanks :)!

No you don't get a magicband.

Yes, you do make FP+ reservations 30 days before each day you are visiting the parks.

You then just tap your ticket on the MickeyHead at the turnstiles.

No, the complimentary magic bands are only for resort guests and annual passholders. You can always purchase a magic band and connect it to your account. They are about $12 :)

1. No.
2. If you have tickets, you can make your FP+ selections 30 days out. It has nothing to do with magic bands.

Okay, great thank you! I didn't know you didn't need a Magic Band to make FP reservations. So if we just get the tickets, once they send them will it link to the account I ordered from and that is how I make the FP selections?

Precisely! You just link the tickets to your account, and you'rs set make your FP's. Not hard at all, but CM's are very helpful, should you ever contact them over the phone with questions :)

You may have to like those tickets to your My Disney Experience account by inputting the ticket numbers. Once that is done, you can make your FP+ 30 days out.

A way to think of it is that all tickets are stored on your MDE account. A Magic Band is just one way to access them, and are functionally identical to a ticket card or any other ticket media for the purposes of admission to parks and Fastpass+.

Okay starting to make sense!

If I have my own tickets and package but my sister is just getting tickets (which will be a less amount of days than mine) can I link her tickets to my account? The system still wouldn't let me book her FP at 60 days, right? And would I still be able to book mine at 60 days even though I have other tickets linked to my account that are only, say, three day tickets without resort reservations?

Sorry if that's confusing - it's SUPER confusing to me!!

You do not need to have a package in order to be able to book your FP+ at the 60-day mark. You only need to be staying in a Disney Resort. Examples: DVC members, AP holders staying onsite and other room-only reservation holders.

If your sister is staying onsite, then she has the capability of booking her FP+ 60-days before arrival. If she isn't, then she has to wait until 30 days prior to her visit.

You can only book FP+ for the number of admission days on your ticket. So, you can't make FP+ for 5 park days if you only have 3-day tickets.

If your sister has an MDE account and she has already linked her ticket to it, then you can send her an invitation to share your vacation plans. This would allow you to book her FP+ when her 30-day window opens.

I agree, it is better to have her set up her own MDE and then you can link them to share plans and copy FP+ selections. That way, she can control her own things as well should there be any disparity.

If you list your sister on your MDE account and link her ticket to her, she will share your 60-day FP booking window. Anyone who is listed and/or linked to the MDE with the 60-day window shares the window.

You will not have to link MDEs or Copy FPs. Add her to your Family list and book her FPs for the days she will be joining you.

Ah okay THANK YOU ALL! This makes so much more sense now. You guys are the best!
