What would you do??

Ok.. some background.... I LOVE DISNEY... Hubby does not. He enjoys it, but when it comes time for a choice between DIsney and a Cruise for us and the kids, cruises have won out. I decided to take each of my kids when they hit 10 yrs old - one down two to go.

BUT>> DH has decided to surprise me by taking me to DIsney for my 40th Bday! We are going to go Labor Day Weekend - just me and him. He just told me we are staying at the Poly :sunny: with the dining package.

OK>> so you have three days, and who knows how long it will be before you return.
What would you do?

[Day 1] Magic Kingdom

[Day 2] Split between Epcot and Studios

[Day 3] Animal Kingdom

"Got that? 3 days!" <= I can't help thinking of Ursula saying that in the Little Mermaid, haha.

Anyway, I only had 3 days back in february, over president's weekend, and I just did my favorite attractions in each park. I also spent a whole day in my favorite park (mgm), a whole day in magic kingdom, and then split a day between animal kingdom and epcot (even though i feel there's so much to see and do in epcot, I still had fun!) Since I got done all my faves and the attractions I REALLY wanted to do, I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. I did the same thing with restaurants: dined at my favorites. Good luck w/ planning your weekend, that's a great surprise! :thumbsup2

Day 1 - Magic Kingdom - a nice start off to a magical trip. Do MK, the heart of Disney first to put you in the mood for Disney magic
Day 2 - MGM - a day of thrills. Tower of Terror & Rock n Roller Coaster, along with the 2 stunt shows.
Day 3 - Epcot - wind-down day, take a relaxing stroll through World Showcase, and wander around FutureWorld and hit some more rides.

We are doing 3 full days in August, also on the dining plan.
Evening 1: dine at Raglan Road
Day 1: Magic Kingdom, resort break, Magic Kingdom
Day 2: split between Animal Kingdom and Epcot - no resort break
Day 3: MGM Studios

Day one: Magic Kingdom
Day two: Animal Kingdom in the morning and MGM in the afternoon
Day Three: Epcot

I have been thinking of posting this question myself. DH has been with DS and me to WDW once and he said he liked it but didn't want to go again. DS now 16 and I are going again in March. I am hoping in a few years to drag DH down for our 25th anniversary, staying at the Poly as well. Good ideas for visiting the parks. Hopefully I can get him for more than 3 days but we will have to cross that bridge when I drag him to it.

Day 1: Magic Kingdom
You'll want a whole day here. Philharmagic is a must. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion...all musts. End the evening with the parade and wishes.

Day 2: Animal Kingdom & MGM
You can see and do the biggest and best each park has to offer by splitting them up. I'd hit Animal Kingdom first (it closes earlier in the evening than MGM). Go directly to Everest and get a fastpass (and hope you can come back by say 12 or 1 pm). Then head over to the Safari and get in line. Then move onto something else like the Kali River Rapids or Jungle Trek, before you head back to Everest. After Everest, head to MGM (usually open late, for example its open until 10pm today), so you can end your day there and find plenty of time to ride Rock & Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, maybe Lights, Camera, Action. It's open late, so you can take your time.

Day 3: Epcot
Do yourself a favor and make sure you spend a full day here. It really deserves a full day, there's SO MUCH to see and do. Spend the AM in future world riding Soarin (get a fastpass first thing in the AM, like you did with Everest), Test Track and a few other Future World attractions. Eat lunch at one of the World Showcase pavilions. Spend the afternoon and evening in World Showcase (make reservations for dinner), taking your time and enjoying the sites & sounds. End the evening with Illuminations.

I couldn't imagine trying to share MK or Epcot with any other park in one day. Both are just way too large and way to GOOD to shortchange yourself by not being able to take your time.

I will only have 3 days in the park in Oct also. I think I will start off with MK. Then park hop the rest of the time.

We have to finish in MK with Wishes - it's always the last night - no matter how long we are at WDW. It sends us off with a magical feeling - and we savor it - especially knowing it may be a while before we get back.

So...I'd do...
Day 1 - MK early, Epcot late;
Day 2 - AK early, MGM late;
Day 3 - Epcot early, MK late;

Have a great birthday!

I think this plan sounds great!

I agree, that is a good way to go about it. As long as both MK and Epcot get a full day each, even if they're split up.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

Here is what I have planned....

Friday AK Early for Everest, MK, Dinner at Poly, Back to MK for WIshes or watch WIshes from Poly.
Saturday MGM Early for ToT and R&R, Rest, Epcot afternoon and Evening (Dinner At Lecellier)
Sunday MK Morning, DTD, Dinner at Artist Point, MK for Extra Magic Night.

One day for MK, one day for Epcot and split a day with AK and MGM.

The bigger question here is where do you eat?

I would proably totally different then what you would want to do...but to make the best of it for ME here is my choices....

It would HAVE to be :

#1 Epcot
#2 Studios
#3 day for relaxing/swimming/shopping DTD.

Wait, that is w/out the kids!
kids:
#1 Studios (my son is a Star Tours fan)
#2 Epcot
#3 swimming
....Geesh, not much different!!! LOL Seems that I have picked up on what they really like, and have adapted!

[Day 1] MK is a must, ride your favorite rides and see what you want to see.

[Day 2] split between AK and MGM see the shows and the animals have fun.

[Day 3] EPCOT there is no better way to end a trip than with illuminations{if your leaving in the morning} otherwise spend this day seeing the world.

Dont forget this is your Bday :bday: time should be spent relaxing and enjoying your time with your DH.

We always go in October and never have more than 3 full days. This year we're doing...

1 - Epcot all day
2 - pool day then MNSSHP at MK
3 - pool day then DTD/La Nouba

If we knew we wouldn't be coming back for a while and wanted to see all the parks we would do...

1 - MK all day
2 - Epcot then boat to MGM
3 - AK til 5:00, then back to Epcot WS

I've done quick 3 day trips before as well. I would spend one day in MK, one day in Epcot and split the last day AK morning to afternoon and MGM afternoon/evening. What a wonderful 40th birthday trip!

magic kingdom for 2 days
animal kingdom for 1 day

eat at LeCellier twice and the Yachtsman. visit my friends at the coral reef.
