OK, I need some help with dinner reservations for my upcoming trip in January. We will be there for 2 days & I want some good places to eat. It will be me, my dh, dd 6 yrs old & ds 2 yrs old. I need something kid friendly with good food. We are only buying admission tickets to Magic Kingdom, so Le Celliar is out (it's one of my favorites). Got any suggestions? I really need places for dinner, but lunch & breakfast suggestions are appreciated too.

The Crystal Palace at the MK is good for table service/buffet. We liked Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe for counter service.

If you don't mind going to some of the resorts, we like The Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, and Boma.

I'm sure you know about the character dining that you can book at Magic Kingdom or its nearby resorts. All of these offer Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner:

• Cinderella's Royal Table (MK, you'll see princesses for Breakfast and Lunch, fairy godmother for Dinner)
• Crystal Palace (MK, Pooh and friends)
• Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort, nearby, with Mickey and friends)
• Liberty Tree Tavern (MK, Mickey and friends only at Dinner)

They might be difficult to reserve, but you can certainly try!

My family has always enjoyed the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge (near MK, but it's not a monorail stop). The food is wonderful, and kids seem to have a great time there. It has a (more formal) cabin/camp-like atmosphere to it. The waiters are hilarious with their antics (throwing straws on the table, offering drawings to color, having race contests with the kids in the restaurant, etc.).

I haven't tried Tony's Town Square in MK yet, it's located right at the MK park entrance, but it's supposed to be a nice Italian restaurant, and it was pretty easy to get a reservation there. It's more formal than Whispering Canyon.

All of these restaurants should be easy to reach in the middle of your day or near the end of your day at the Magic Kingdom.

I would check the monorail hotels - Chef Mickey, Ohana, Kona cafe, The Wave. All of those are very good and just a few minutes away from MK - you could do breakfast or take break from the park by doing lunch at the hotels.

In the parks it is mostly character buffets, but there is also Tony's Town Square if you are tired of the characters

I would recommend 1900 Park Fare for breakfast at GF and Ohana's for dinner! Two of my favorites!

I would go to Ohana breakfast, the food and fun is awesome!

Lunch would have to be Tonys, although I have not eaten there yet I think the menu sounds awesome.

Dinner, well honestly I would go to Cosmic Rays but if you want a nice TS the CP is very good but super duper loud!

Why not spend an evening at the Boardwalk area. We had a great dinner at Yachtman Steak house (I remember DD got a large "embossed" cookie that she painted with a frosting of sorts, after dinner - great fun!) or they have the Character buffet at Beach Club - go early 5:30 ish, then walk over the Boardwalk and watch all the entertainment - there are magicians, jugglers, and other entertainers.

As far as breakfast and lunch, I guess it might depend on where you're staying. If you're in the MK for lunch, I would suggest Crystal Palace. I'd also suggest that for breakfast. But I haven't eaten at Liberty tree tavern.
We go to Crystal palace for fun with the characters.

I would vote for Park Fare, and Crystal Palace or Ohanas for dinner
MK bakery has really good stuff for breakfast
Cosmic Rays is good for lunch, there is usually some kind of music or show and the food is good

My votes are for:

In MK:

Crystal Palace dinner: Good food with great desserts and lot's of fun with Pooh and friends! My son loved it here when he was 2. He even did the little parade.

On the monorail from MK:

1900 Park Fare if dd is a Cinderella fan. Check out the menu here and see if you like the buffet offerings. The Grand Floridian is so pretty, it really is like being invited to a princess party.

O'hana: Adults and kids will like it here. Grilled meats and peel and eat shrimp with salad, veggies and noodles (and yummy bananas foster bread pudding). They have a singer who leads the kids in hula lessons and coconut races. Try and sit somewhere near the windows.

I would pick:

Crystal Palace-Pooh and Friends

Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort)- Mickey and Friends

1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian Resort)- Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step-Sisters and Mother for dinner. Mary Poppins and Friends for breakfast.

Sometimes it is nice to take a break from the parks and head to a Resort. You can take the monorail or walk to the Contemporary and you can take the monorail or boat to the Grand Floridian.

I also agree about Cosmic Ray's for CS.

If we have only 2 days then we have to have O'Hana dinner as an option. We love that place. A second would be a late lunch at CP. It's usually quiet during the 3 o'clock parade.
