...and you are in the Orlando area, be sure to go to Celebration and visit Sherlock's tea shop downtown. Their scones are awesome! They are served with Devonshire cream and jam, just like on the ship, as well as your choice of many wonderful tea flavors. High tea is one of my favorite experiences, but we don't get to sail on the Magic too often due to lack of vacation days and the Grand Floridian only offers high tea at certain times. But now I know that I can feed my addiction at Sherlock's any time I'm in the area.

Barb --

Help!! Okay, you've guided me through the spa treatments...

...now I have a "Tea" question. Hubby and I aren't big tea drinkers, we did the tea last year and wouldn't mind trying it again...what would you recommend as a good tea to try?

Thank you!!!
Ginny

I used to love the cinnamon tea, but they didn't have it anymore last time we sailed on the Magic. But they did have some new floral types that were excellent. Of course, I love flavored teas like the black currant that is always available on both the Magic and the Wonder. Chamomile is good, too. My Hungarian Grandma used to brew it fresh for me with the leaves when I was little and had a cold.
Even if you're not fond of the tea, those scones are still a good reason to go!

Barb:

I really loved our afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. Is the tea on the Magic of similar quality?? I'm hoping so. The scones with raspberry jam and Devonshire cream were to die for! Even DH wants to go to the tea onboard the Magic because he, too, enjoyed tea at the GF :) I've seen your pics of the tea and they look SOOO good :teeth:

Hello SeaSpray!

The teas served at High Tea are simply wonderful! The only problem is that there are too many great flavors to try and enjoy in one sitting!

Hi Jason :wave2:

I'm not surprised to hear that the tea on the Magic is great, I just wanted to hear it from someone who's done it before :sunny: I REALLY am hoping we are able to get a reservation for it on our cruise!! ::yes:: Do you and Travis do the Tea regularly?? Do you happen to know what hours they offer it?? I've read that it's only offered on at-sea days.

It's such a civilized way to spend a little time in the afternoon :cutie: :teeth:

Travis and I have only managed to get reservations for High Tea once. On our cruise in November of 02 and May of 03 we wern't able to arrive at the port early enough to grab a spot. We were able to in August though and will most certainly be attending High Tea again!

You're right about only offering it on sea days. From 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Are you planning on arriving at the port early in August?

Since we'll be staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise, we should be at the port pretty early on Saturday :sunny: I think that will be my priority, to get onboard and get on line to make Palo tea reservations as soon as they open up for reservations. :teeth: I think we'll also try and get brunch and dinner reservations as well. On the western itinerary, which dining rotation do you prefer? I'm leaning towards and hoping for APL since it puts you in Lumiere's on semi-formal and formal nights, and Parrot Cay on Mexicali night. Ultimately I'm sure it doesn't matter, but it'd be fun to match the theme of the night with the theme of the restaurants :)

The scones ROCK!!!! The black currant flavor sounds pretty good. I may try that one next time.

Thanks!!
Ginny

ps--- the absolute face and body really is the best...although the seaweed wrap is pretty darn awesome!! ::yes::

The Black Currant tea is excellent! Very fruity!

I've tried that one and the California Fields. Out of the two, I would have to say that the California Fields is better. That one was actually recommended by our most wonderful server, Erika from South Africa.

Anyone know if she's still onboard?

[Edit Note: I'm sorry everyone! I confused my servers! Alexandra was our main dining room server in November. Erika was our server at Palo in August!]

What does California Fields taste like?? Fruity, etc.

Thanks!!!
Ginny

It's very fruity as well. It seems like there was a hint of strawberry.

I think I'll have to have a cup in May to refresh my memory! :)

Oh, just so everyone knows, the tea is also available at any time in Palo. If you would rather substitute tea for coffee after dinner they're more than happy to oblige. I'm sure that its available during Champage Brunch too.

Thanks!!

Alright...off the topic...I'm so wishing we didn't have to wait until August...May seems so close and August so far away! Hmm..I wonder if they'd notice if we stowed away. pirate:

August IS too far away! But at least in 2 days we can say "We're cruising this year!" :sunny:
