if you know Joe Morelli, Stephanie Plum and Lula, I want to talk to you!

Looking forward to hear what everyone thinks...I can't go until Monday's matinee.

Just came home from seeing the movie.... I loved it.. what did everyone else think?

I'm going at 8:15 and can't wait! I seem to always enjoy the movies the critics give horrible reviews to.:confused3 So here's hoping I'll think this ones great!

Wow, the critic reviews are bad.

I plan to go next week.

I have been a big fan of this series for years and was really unsure about the movie. I saw it last night and I thought it was GREAT! I wasn't sold on Heigel when I heard she had the role but I thought she was a really good Stephanie. Ranger and Morelli were great too. I might have drooled a little bit...:rotfl:

I have no idea why the critics seem to hate it so much. I brought my DH and he enjoyed it too even though he hasn't read any of the books. I am really hoping they will make another movie with this cast.

Saw it yesterday......it wasn't too bad.
Heigl did a decent job (her accent came and went)....Ranger talked too much and did smile.
Morelli was okay. Didn't like the mom.
There wasn't really enough of the other characters to tell yet. We'll see if there is another movie. I so wanted to see some of grandma and Stephanie going to a funeral.

DD really liked it. She hasn't read any of the books.

Huge Plum fan here!!! I have not seen the movie yet.

I was not thrilled with KH, but in the previews, she seems to pull off Steph pretty well. I know some fans are upset with the casting of Morelli, but I think he was cast pretty well. It is kind of how I pictured him in my mind even though JE describes him as tall, dark, Italian and with longer curly hair.

I think Connie is dead on (again only from the previews I saw.) Not thrilled with Debbie Reynolds as GM, I think she is fabulous, just not what I pictured as Grandma Mazur. I really think Estelle Getty would have been perfect, obviously not possible, but her character in Golden Girls is totally what I picture as Grandma Mazur.

I was disapointed in the casting of Ranger. I think the actor is really handsome and I am sure he is a talented actor, just not Ranger. In the books, he is described as being the ultimate bada** tall, mysterious, built, buff, muscular etc. In the previews, it shows Steph and him at a gun range, and Steph towers over him. He seems too "pretty" to be Ranger. I guess I'll have to see the movie to see if he pulls it off.

Keep the reviews coming!

DH and I saw the movie yesterday. I really didn't like them casting Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur (like others, I pictured Estelle Getty or Cloris Leachman or Betty White), so I was anxious to see if she could pull it off. And there wasn't much of Grandma in this movie; I was hoping for a trip to the funeral home or something. Debbie Reynolds was ok the few times we saw her, but she doesn't have the "hard" look that I always pictured with Grandma.

Morelli and Ranger were ok, just not what I pictured. Ranger talked way too much, and I didn't like the way he said "Babe."

Sherri Shepherd as Lula was good. What I didn't like, was in one scene, she gets beat up and Stephanie takes her to the hospital. They show her leaving the ER. Next time we see Lula, she's working at the bail bonds office. No talk about her wanting to leave her "profession" and get a normal job.

It was an ok movie, not as good as I'd hoped. DH was pleased; he said he thought it would be chick flick, and he was glad to see some shooting and fighting and dead bodies and stuff.

I saw the movie last night and thought it was lame.

I'm disappointed in who they chose to play Stephanie, Joe, and Ranger. Heigl's Jersey accent was horrible, Joe wasn't sexy enough for me, and Ranger wasn't like he was described in the book.

It was an OK movie, my DH surprisingly enjoyed it but didn't read the book. I agree with the PP who did not like the casting of Stephanie's mom. KH did a a good job I thought. Not who I'd choose but she pulled it off. I was disappointed with Ranger and Joe.

I saw it last night. I liked Katherine Heigl (don't know her from whatever show she's on, so I didn't have any preconceived notions). I really liked Morelli, but didn't like Daniel Sunjata as Ranger -- I've never liked him in anything he's done, but he was totally miscast in this role. Overall, I thought the movie wasn't bad! I got the Groupon $6 ticket, and my expectations were low, so I didn't have any issues other than Ranger, and the friend I was with, who didn't like the books, enjoyed it.

A lot was different than the book. I'll have to see it again.

I know they can't get all of the book into a 90 minute movie -- not enough grandma, no funeral homes, not enough Ranger.

I'm not crazy about the grandma character either. It was good though and my DH liked it eventhough he hasn't read the books.

I went with my sister this afternoon. We are big fans of the book - we both loved it!

Our gripes: not long enough; not enough Grandma Mazur; no explanantion of why Lula quit the "profession"; Vinnie seemed miscast; I agree that Katherine H's accent came and went.

Since the movie was only 90 minutes, I'm willing to bet that they cut out scenes: showing Stephanie & Grandma at a funeral; Stephanie & Lula in a conversation about a job with Vinnie.

I'm hoping they make more of these!
