For the last few months I've mentioned that thier version is getting some upgrades.

The MK version is now far superior to DL's. No contest.

They have an interactive que now. Just opened.
They also have redone the hitchiking ghosts. Just revealed but some rumors suggest more variations are on their way.

Hopefully these changes aren't far from making thier way to DL.

Don't loose you head watching this.

It may be superior in aesthetics but not in nostalgia. Too much history with the DLR HM to crown the MK the better version. It does look really cool though. I'm a fan of the old hitchhiking ghosts, but I will agree the MK hitchhiking ghost's are superior.

There are elements I prefer at DL. Such as an actual elevator instead of simulated. I also prefer the walk through hallway at DL rather than the ride passing down a similar hallway at MK. The walkthrough allows you to take your time looking at the wall paintings and hologram statue heads. I do like the upside down staircase at MK thats not present at DL.

I have to agree and I have never been to WDW.

okay honestly.. HM to me could use some upgrades. I love the nostalgia don't get me wrong but what they can do... like the line waiting is just amazing. The true love never dies bit they did SUCKED oh my god it was HORRIBLE! Stuff they are doing like for ariel tho is amazing. I mean make the ghosts funny and fun and whimsical like the singing faces. You could keep the nostalgia like the main room and even the layout of the graveyard but improve the actual ghosts. Passing through the wall with people coming out the doors and the hands and stuff you could keep that too. Plus the main dining room. The hitch hiking ghosts is cool too. I'm just saying You could add a little tweaks and still keep the spirit of the rides.

I had "lunch with an Imagineer" at WDW and he told me that there were no plans to put interactive queues in any of the Disneyland attractions. That's too bad, because we had a blast playing in the HM queue and the Winnie the Pooh queue, too.

Until they do the Holiday overlay at WDW, ours will never be as good as the one at DL, and this is from a die-hard WDW fan.

Oooh, I am jealous! I read about the queue before our trip on March 19 and they were doing soft openings. Alas not when we visited MK. And the ghosts were being work too.

Regardless, yes, the DL HM will always be nostalgic for me but until now both rides have seemed pretty equal... :)

Basing which is better on nastalgia shows that you are a biased person not willing to make just decision.

BTW the HM in DL is only 2 years older than the MK version by opening date but designed at the same time. But given that MK had more space they made it a larger attraction, with extra scenes and a larger queue as well.

Which would Walt Disney like better? "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

So I think Walt would like the evolving MK version rather than the stagnant DL version.

I'm super excited to see the new que and hitch hikers in October. I can't wait to see what "enhancments" they are going to add for the halloween party.

Wow, that looks very impressive! I see no problem with these changes being made in DL if thats what even ends up happening. One of the things DL is always good about is updating its attractions while preserving their nostalgia at the same time, I personally think it would be really great to get these additions, not that I dont love the ride as it is, that video was just very cool:thumbsup2

What happens in Orlando, can stay in Orlando. There is no need for an interactive Que in my opinion at Dl in Ca. I would like to see the Hat box ghost return. And the attic scene with the bride change as well. Apart from that, I am good with it.

While I like the interactive queue (that was probably the one thing that I find MK trumps DL in...if only for the misters that they have for the Splash queue [those things are fantastic in July :lovestruc]), I don't think it would work logistically in the space allotted to DL's HM.

I do prefer DL's HM interior to MK's HM interior overall (and I think it has a cooler facade). However, I would like it if they added the hitchhiking ghost interaction.
