We switched to Verizon some time ago and I guess you get so many points per month that you can use towards various things.

I noticed that they had gift cards for sale and for a certain amount of points, you get about a 10% discount on the gift cards. They didn't have Disney gift cards, but they did have Yak & Yeti, Rainforest Café, and T-Rex Café gift cards at a discount. They also had several other chain restaurant discounted gift cards on there at a discount.. We like to stop at Cracker Barrel when we travel because they are everywhere, who doesn't like breakfast, and their restrooms are usually clean.

There are other things too.. store gift cards, movie theatre vouchers, car rental vouchers, discounted clothing, etc..

I had never looked into this before but it might be worth checking out.

I checked it out last week and I wasn't impressed. The only thing that caught my eye was a substantial discount on some hotel rooms-50+%, but I was highly disappointed in the gift cards. I was honestly hoping for "free" gift cards, but no such luck. We'll probably just use ours for hotel reservations in the future, but otherwise, we won't use it much.

Yeah, I thought there would be better discounts as well. BUT.. if you are planning to eat there anyways, 10% saved is still 10% saved.. you know?

Unfortunately other websites offer better deals-for example, for Cracker Barrel, it's up to 18% off on Raise right now with 2% back through Swagbucks. Who knows, maybe it'll get better over time!

I usually just get the visa gift card. Once you order it the first time, you save the card and on subsequent orders the $ is added to the same card.

Same here. I have a Rewards account for my business phones, just redeem 2500 points for $25.00 VISA gift card and use it on whatever I want. It's easy to reload the card when I get more points. I have found their other items for purchase not too appealing.

I didn't see the option for a visa gift card..
I think we may be talking about 2 different things. The Verizon rewards program I was referring to is called "My Verizon Rewards+"
I can view my points when I log into my Verizon billing account there's a menu along the left side of the screen with choices:
Home
My Services
Bill & Payment
Special Deals
My Rewards+
Refer a Friend
Profile
Verizon Messages

Below these options lists our account # and customer ID Code

When I click on My Rewards+ the visa gift card is clearly offered in the center of the page that includes a picture of a sample card. It's not at all hard to find which is what leads me to believe maybe it's not the same rewards program.

We earn extra points by paying our bill automatically to our cc and by going paperless. Also when I used their computer helper chat person to help me change my security/encryption level to a higher more modern level I earned a lot of bonus points. They guided me into areas of my computer I didn't know I had. lol.

They offer these gift cards too:
Dunkin Donuts
Amazon
Target
Starbucks
Macy's
Panera Bread
Exxon/Mobil
Bloomin' Brands (Outback/Carrabba's/Bonefish Grill/Fleming's Steak House)
Staples
LL Bean
Charity Choice

Do you have more than just cell service with Verizon? I think that may be the difference. I can't seem to find where My Verizon Rewards+ is offered to those of us with only cell service (though I could be missing it).

I have 175,000 pts, but I can only use 1,000 of them at a time. A visa gift card is not an option for me. I'm not willing to use 1,000 points, for basically a 10% discount.

I have a Verizons Reward but must not be Rewards+. Lots of gift cards but no Visa. And I have to spend like $50-$100 before I get $5-$10 off (?) Geez I have 146,000 points - WOW

We don't use Verizon for cell phones. We have them for Fios package: tv, land phone & internet.
