...and you are very vocal about it, especially vocal to the people who own them...

If you are always making comments about their gas-guzzling and ugliness...

If you state that YOU would never be so "selfish" as to drive one...

And you do this often enough that people are talking about you behind your back because, though they like you, you are so silly about this...

And your car runs off the road and gets stuck in the snow on the way home from the hospital...

Please don't call the SUV owner you've called "selfish" and launched into your anti-SUV diatribe with to come pick up your wife and drive her home, then come back and haul your perfect and unselfish car out of the snow.

Because we have to bite our tongues so God-blessed hard that they bleed.

It injures us.

Thanks.

Okay, *I* am one of those but we don't have snow here and there is NO reason to have one unless you have 15 kids. Here. Not THERE where it snows.

But bless you for being a good friend. Make sure you remind them each time you see them that a SUV bailed them out whenever they open their mouths again.

It's just as wise to tell those big SUVs that they are not invincible. I've seen far more SUVs on their roofs on the side of a highway than small cars.

For the record we have one small SUV for carting everything around and a sports car. There is good and bad to both.

Both still have to be careful while driving during snow and ice :)

As someone who resides in a state who had an ice storm last night, my issue with SUV owners today is that not a single one of them that I saw cleaned the ice off their roof, and I really don't like it when a large ice chunk comes flying towards my windshield.

I got rid of my SUV... I don't hate them, but I honestly can't see why people say they need one when a wagon can do the same job for less money.

That goes for regular old cars as well. People are so lazy. Take a couple extra minutes and brush off the roof of your cars/SUV's. Thank you.

Thx Love my big honking pain in the butt to everyone but me, SUV!

Though I've been driving DH's BMW all wheel drive lately and have to admit, that thing goes pretty good in the snow also. Its not very practical to haul around a bunch of kids and dogs though.

And what kind of wagon do you speak of? A station wagon? Didn't thing they made those things anymore. A minivan? Not in this lifetime!

Karma, it's a beautiful thing.

I have NO snow here, but I won't give up my SUV. It's safer than a small car and if I am in an accident, as selfish as it sounds, I would rather be the one in the SUV than the cute little car. Sorry. It's also safer for me because a car is too low to me, I need to be able to see where I am going.

And if you have 15 kids, you don't need an SUV, you need a BUS.

People who drive big pick up trucks that guzzle gas as bad as an SUV don't always need them either, but no one ever says anything about them. Most of them only seat TWO people. and a hound dog in the bed.

No station wagons or minivans in this family.:crazy2:

I have no particular problem with SUVs. If you want one, go for it!

What's interesting to me about the OP, is that around here, when there is snow, the SUVs are the ones in the ditches. :confused3

:thumbsup2

May I also add that if there is a pile of snow and ice you don't call the SUV owner and ask if they can pick you up, cause your little car would never make it to work in this stuff. ;)

haha same here. We always see them racing past us along the highway...I think that they don't realize that the ability to go doesn't mean you can stop haha.

And our answer to the snow is a Subaru :) We got three feet of snow in December and it handled it like a champ!

They were actually probably complimenting you on your driving skills, rather than thinking about your vehicle. Just b/c a person has an SUV doesn't mean they know how to drive it, especially in the snow, especially using 4 wheel drive. We know plenty of people who have them just b/c of the look of it, but couldn't drive it properly in the snow to, well, save their lives.

Wait wait. So you think that karma caused a person who doesn't like a type of vehicle to get stuck in the snow? Call me crazy, but I doubt my Korean Buddhist hubby and MIL would agree that karma was involved in there....

And I would rather be the one killed, rather than kill other people. So we're definitely different.

a wagon cant tow a horse trailer!

I love having an SUV -- and so do a lot of my friends when they ask me to help them move, tow stuff, etc... It also does great in the snow. But, even if I lived in a place that didn't snow I would still own an SUV. It's my personal choice and I really don't have to answer to people who think it's wrong for me to own one. It's called free agency...get over it! There are far worse things I could be doing to pollute our Earth.

Thanks OP!!! :thumbsup2

Exactly why I have my Dodge 2500 Diesel 4X4!! :thumbsup2 Honestly the truck doesn't get used very often now that I am retired from the Air Force and not working, but I do use it every week to haul to lessons.

We have a tiny Toyota for every day use and I love it for the gas mileage!!

My kids have a Jeep Wrangler and even that is helpful for pushing roundbales of hay into the pasture!!

All of our vehicles have a purpose!
