If you HAD to skep a park, which one?

Like others have suggested, get a guide book - the Unofficial Guide to WDW is very good. This will give you an idea of what you want to see and where it's located. Going in with limited time requires that you have a plan (you still gotta be flexible).

For us the hightlights are (probably will be missing several)

Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Country Bears, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room (new mgt), Peter Pan, Pooh, Goofys roller coaster, Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear (many multiple times - our fav).

Every Person Comes Out Tired: Test Track, Mission Space, Cranium Command (in Health), Journey Into Imagination (the ride), Norway Maelstrom, the American Journey (or is it Adventure), lunch in Morroco (during the belly dancing time), the Impresions' de France (if were pooped and its hot or pouring outside) and Illuminations. 2nd tier epcot attractions are Spaceship Earth, the China Circlevision movie, the Universe of Energy (but it takes 45 minutes), Honey I've Shrunk the Audiance (if you've never seen it - see it!) and Food Rocks (now closed -bummer)

Studios: Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Star Wars, Muppet Vision, Indiana Jones Stunt show, Annimation Building, Beauty and the Beast stage show, The Great Movie Ride and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapid, Festival of the Lion King (the BEST show), Maharajah Jungle Trek (walk through exhibit), It's Tought to be a Bug, and Flights of Wonder (a bird show)

Decisions, decisions,
and Have a great trip!!

If I had to skip a park it would be MGM. I would never skip EPCOT it is something you really can't get anywhere else. But I would park hop and not skip any of them. At the very least go to EPCOT after you are done with MGM or AK. We can do both those in 3/4 a day if we have to...

If you have three days and hopper passes, it might be fun to park hop. Animal Kingdom is good to visit during the morning into the early afternoon and Epcot is very nice at night. The problem with only going to Epcot at night is that it will be harder to ride Mission Space and Test Track. You could go to Epcot one evening and then again on a separate morning on the day you go to MGM.

Hmmm...that's a tough one. I guess if I HAD to skip a park, it would probably be MGM. It's nice and it's fun, but for us..there isn't enough there to spend a whole day.

Second on my list would be Animal Kingdom. I love the animals, but my kids aren't as excited about it as me.

Whatever you decide..you will still have a magical time! ;)

I've read through all these posts on which parks to see and what to skip in reguards to the first posted question. But what would you all suggest for a family of four, which includes our two daughters ages 11 and 6. We are going on this as part of a wish trip from Wishing Star Foundation. We will be in the area for 5 days, but only get 3 day park passes. So we don't have the option of hopping from one park to another (which is what we had planned before we knew what tickets we would be getting). In addition to the 3 day passes we will also be going to Universal and Sea World.

So we have to pick what to use our 3 park passes for. One will for sure be MK.

Any ideas would be great. :sunny:

Our least favorite park is Animal Kingdom. We have been there one time since it opened (5 trips). We were able to get through it in 1/2 day. If you had time, I would definitely recommend it but if you can only do 3 parks, I would skip AK. Since you are staying at the AKL, you will at least have a taste of the African theme and the beautiful animals. (We love the AKL and I am sure you will too!) Our DS is now 12 and I asked him about visiting AK on our trip this summer and he was not interested. We are going for a week so we might still squeeze in a morning there.
If this is your DS (10) first visit and your first visit in a long time, you will probably want to see more in each park than us guests who are more frequent visitors so it may take you longer to tour. MY DS 12 loves MGM and we usually spend 1 1/2 to 2 days there. Future World in Epcot can easily take at least 1/2 day for us. We try to go to Future World on EMH and leave shortly after lunch for a break at the pool (summer trips) and hit the WS around dinner time. There seems to me so much more activity later in the day in the WS (and it is not as hot!). The MK is the MK and not to be missed, especially if this is your son's first trip. As you can see, there are many diverse opinons! Good luck with your decision and have a wonderful time!!!

We're skipping MGM this yr. There isnt anything new there since our last visit in 02
We are going to IOA & Universal for 2 days this Oct however

AK is DS11's favorite. If it was up to him he'd skip all the other parks so he can go to AK.

 Thank you to everyone that responded. I had no idea I would get so many different opinions. ::yes:: :wave2:

scrapperjill: I would say skip Animal Kingdom, mainly because it takes the least amount of time to go through. But if your kids love animals and watching them, you should go. If your family is big on movies don't miss MGM. Epcot is great but some kids don't like it. If you can't park hop, you'll have them most to do at Epcot.

You said you are going to Universal - in that case I'd probably skip MGM, since I'm not sure you need 2 movie theme parks at the expense of one of the other Disney parks (even though MGM and Universal are quite different).

But, if you're really not into animals and greenery etc., then maybe AK is the thing to skip.

For the OP - don't skip any of them! Just go to AK first thing and do the Safari, Dinosaur and It's tough to be a bug. That's all the "rides" except Kali - but in December I wouldn't want to do it anyway. The rest of the shows are probably not going to appeal much to a 10 & 13 yo son! Not enough that it will break their hearts to miss them anyway.

My DD's favorite park - and ours too - is MGM! Her very favorite ride - and has been since she was 10 - is Tower of Terror! You just can't let a 10 and 13 year old boy miss that - or RnR! You can easily do MGM and AK together in one day - especially if you're there at an uncrowded time.

For the poster with the 2 DD's I'd probably choose between AK and Epcot. While I love the 3 rides I mentioned above at AK - other then that I can't imagine spending a whole day there. There's just not that much there that interests me. But since you have a 6 year old - you would know best if she would enjoy the shows and animal exhibits. I personally would skip AK and go eat at Epcot!!
