If you had to pick ONE ride in Cars Land, what would it be and why?

My title says it all, but let me add to consider I have kids ages 8, 7 and 4.5.

If the 4.5 year old is taller than 40", then definitely Radiator Springs Racers. It's leaps and bounds better than the other 2 attractions in Carsland, but that also means that the lines have been very very long for it. I see this'll be your first trip to DLR. RSR is similar to Test Track in style but in nothing else. It has the highest quality audio-animatronics in its indoor portion. And then the track splits into 2 and the outdoor fast portion is actually a race, side-by-side between the two tracks.

How many days are you going for? Where are you staying? These questions will help us let you know what is the best strategy for getting on RSR with as short of a line as possible (which still isn't that short).

There really is no contest or comparison between RSR and the other two. It will be obvious to you when you get there and see it and ride it--Radiator Springs Racer is where they spent the money and created a world class ride. Luigi and Mater rides are silly and fun in their own way (although with Luigi that is debatable)--but are not suppose to be in the same league as RSR.

We are only there for three days, but staying at DLH. I'm so torn if we even want to mess with Cars Land rides or not. My kids aren't fans. And there is so much we want to see!

I am not really a fan of the movie Cars either--my younger daughter saw the movie once--but my older daughter and I have never even seen it. But all the same, we LOVED everything about Cars land. It is classic Disney--the themeing of the street area is amazing! RSR is among my top 3 all time favorite disneyland rides.

Another surprise to me was just how great Buena Vista Street is. I had no idea that it was going to be another Main Street--but it truly is.

You can really see just how Disney spent a billion dollars on this remodel--it shows. I went as an AP preview, and honestly didn't expect that much. I looked forward to it, but was stunned by how great it looked.

So, I would say go. I wouldn't wait very long to get on the Luigi or Mater ride, but if there is a way to grab fast passes and go on RSR, you will be glad you did. The restaurants in the Cars land area are also very cute.

We are going back for another trip at the end of July, and although I know we will be slammed with crowds--there is no way I will be able to stay away from Cars land.

I want to see it for sure and maybe we will eat lunch there somewhere. My kids are all familiar with the movies, they just never got "into" them like they did the princess movies or Pirates of the Caribbean. But we will go through it. I think we will try to get fast passes first thing in the morning for RSR and hope the FP line isn't 60 minutes long. Like others said, I know it's similar to Test Track, which we've been on plenty of times, so I won't be too upset if we don't ride.

Since you're staying at DLH, at least one of your days you'll be entitled to Extra Magic Hours at 7AM for DCA. This is a great time to actually do all 3 rides in Carsland. You can do Luigi's, then Mater's, maybe explore the town a bit, and then line up to get a FP. FPs then start distributing at 8AM, but the line to get a FP has been forming well before 8AM. Then later, you can come back later to ride the Racers with a reasonable wait with FP.

I would highly recommend this.

Also that's not what I said...I said that the only similarity between the rides is the type of ride. If you think that they're that similar, then you'll be missing one of DLR's best rides. I honestly would ride prefer to ride RSR over TT 9 times out of 10.

RSR is like Test Track 2.0. There are a lot of similarities in ride vehicle, but that's where the differences end. RSR and Test Track have about as much in common as Indiana Jones and Dinosaur.

Also, be sure to get fastpasses early, as they've ran out before 9am every day since Carsland has opened.

Ok. And that sounds like a perfect plan for us. But question. If this was your first trip to DLR would you do this or would you do other stuff at DCA in that hour? I'm worried about July crowds and there is a lot we want to do there. I'm just really testing out all our options.

Nope, I don't think I would do other things. During that hour you could probably manage 5 rides on Toy Story, but in general Toy Story lines are a lot more manageable at DCA than at DHS (summer weekdays you're gonna see a constant 40-50 min wait all day after 8:45AM, no FP unfortunately). Furthermore, you could do Soarin (also at WDW), ToT and Screamin during that extra hour, but those all have FP and can be done during the day with shorter lines. Luigi's and Mater's don't have FP and have been getting long lines. I think the whole family would enjoy both of them.

Also from your tracker, I see you'll be there starting the 17th or the 18th? If your park days are the 18th-20th, you'll be allowed to use EMH at DCA on both the 18th and the 20th (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays for DCA, opposite days for DL). You can use one EMH for Carsland, and if you have another, you can go crazy at TSMM.

I think you should hit Cars Land even if it is your first trip, simply because you can't see it at WDW. I only get to visit Florida every few years, so my priority is always to go on things I can't see in DL/DCA, followed by old favorites that are on both coasts. Plus, with all the publicity that's been going on, "So what did you think of Cars Land" is going to be the first question everyone asks when you get back! Take advantage of EMH, and you'll be fine. As mentioned before, all of the other major DCA attractions have FP, except for TSMM, and that is one of the few rides that is the same on both coasts.
I hope you enjoy your trip! And I really think you'll like Cars Land, it is getting rave reviews even from people who don't like the movie!

I would say mater junk yard jamboree the lines alot shorter the the other two and it is so much fun. It will make u and the kids laugh. Mid day lines usually a half an hour or less.
