to eat out during your WDW experience what would you recommend.

I can't believe I'm actually writing this...39 days until we go and we arrive adn wer are looking for suggestions for this rookie WDW family.

We are going with the in-laws who will babysit for us one evening...so what do you suggest.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd choose either le Cleeier or Kona Cafe....we went to le Cleeier for lunch (supper was booked-up) and had a great meal.....went to Kona Cafe for Supper and everything was great too......we were on the free DDP so we made sure to hit the popular spots

Coral Reef in Epcot at the seas- had a great meal there last August.
Le Cellier, Kona Cafe, O'hana's would all be great choices too.

We ate at Portobello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney. Loved it so much we had to go back a second time on that trip. The Filet Portobello was melt in the mouth amazing. It's not on the dinning plan and is a bit on the pricey side but a nice quiet night on the patio.

Le Cellier is also a great choice, we always go there at least once a trip.

Raglan Road was a nice surprise, there were a lot of bad reviews on the sites but ours was a great experiance. The Forked Scallops were so good I had to order it twice!

We did not like Fultons Crab House, when Red Lobster's food tastes 10 time's better for half the price, they have a problem.

Corral Reef's food is amazing but if you are looking for a quiet night out forget it. The noise seems to be amplified because of the layout and the low ceiling.

CHef Mickeys would be our choice. We can't go to Disney and not eat at Chef Mickey's it is by far the most fun you will have eating breakfast or dinner hands down. Not to mention the food is darn good.

I love Le Cellier as well. However, with only 39 days until your trip, you may not be able to get ressies.

I have always enjoyed the food in Ohana's. However, without kids, you may want to venture into more adult type restaurants, like Artist Point, Jiko, Citricos, California Grill or Narcoossee's.

Just wanted to add, Coral Reef is one of those restaurants that we have to go to each trip, but to be honest, it's all about the atmosphere, the kids love it. But we are not that fond of the food.

We're trying out Narcoossee's next month. We've read and heard some great reviews, it's more of an adult atmosphere, in the Grand Floridian (so no park ticket required) over the water, great view of Wishes if we time it right, menu looks yummy, nice spot for a quiet walk after dinner.
We've always planned our meals around what the kids would enjoy along with us so this is a real treat getting to find something just for us!
PS - we were able to get ADRs at 7pm 40 days out so they aren't as busy as the park restaurants!

Jiko, Artist Point, and O'hana-but only if you can get a Dinner reservation about 40 min before Wishes starts. When you check-in ask for an table facing the magic kingdom so you get a great view of the fireworks.
IMHO Jiko is the best!

Are you aware of needing to make reservations (ADRs - advance dining reservation) for the WDW restaurants? Otherwise you may not get into them especially the popular ones being offered to your initial questions.

For a night out without the kids I would say California Grill or Portobello Yacht Club. Both have amazing food. If you eat at California Grill you can go out lookouts and watch the fireworks. Even if you eat earlier in the evening you can come back before the fireworks and go upstairs.
