If you had one day, what would you do?

I have the unexpected joy to be able to go to Disneyland for one day. An unexpected trip arose and I am able to spend one day at Disneyland. While I wish it was more, I'm thrilled for the one day.
It will be on my 33rd birthday! I will be going with one other adult who will do whatever I like that day. We have made 1:40 reservations for the Blue Bayou.
I have been to WDW numerous times so I want to try and avoid the duplication unless it is worth it.
So far my list is:
Pirates of the Carribean
Matterhorn
Storybook Land (I'm not sure if that is what it is called)
What else?
Thanks very much for the input.
Jean

Small world ( it might be closed)
Alice in wonderland ( must do )
Indy ( Must must do )
Tiki room ( if you want to see the original show)
Mr Lincoln ( especially if you like Hall of presiden't)
The Train ( great history and different)

If you want to.....you could skip the sit down meal, eat instead at the French market, and plan on hopping over to DCA where the MUST DO's are

CA screaming
Soaring over CA
Golden Dreams

Stop at City Hall to pick up a birthday sticker. You'll get lots of extra attention. I know that the Jungle Cruise is at WDW, but if the guide sees your sticker, he/she will usually sing to you.

Another non-duplicate ride is Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
Also there's Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.

If you have time for a show, the Snow White show is good, though if you do hop over to DCA the Aladdin show is better (and I heard from a CM the other day that it's Broadway bound--in a longer version of course).

Thanks for the responses.
I think I will stick with the sitdown since that is part of the fun for me.
Do you think I will be able to accomplish the following in one day if I am there as the gates open?
Blue Bayou
Pirates of the Carribean
Matterhorn
Storybook Land
Alice In Wonderland
Indy
Small World
Train
Tiki Room

I think that is a reasonable list as well as leave some time for just enjoying walking around on my birthday at my favorite place (well WDW is my favorite place but I'm hoping this will compete for that title)

You should be able to easily, except the Tiki Room is closed until early next year for refurb (don't worry--it will still be the original show).
You want to go straight to the Matterhorn since it doesn't offer FP and the lines stay long throughout the day. Go ahead and ride any Fantasyland rides you are interested in before the lines for those get too long (the one you probably don't need to worry about at this point is Small World as it has such a high capacity that the lines are rarely unmanagable) as none of those offer FP either, then head to Adventureland. Get a FP for Indy (unless the line is 20 min or shorter, which it probably won't be at that point). Ride Pirates. Look around the New Orleans Square shops until your Indy FP time. Guess what--you've ridden just about everything on the list. Check the time--if it's within an hour of your PS at BB, stick around the Adventureland/NOS/Frontierland area and shop and enjoy the musicians in NOS. If it's a Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday there's a great comedy troup called Laughing Stock Co that performs a 3-part skit (each part is 10 minutes long) in front of the Golden Horseshoe--check them out if you can, they're hilarious. Eat lunch. Take the train from the Frontierland station to the ToonTown Station--you're right by Small World and the train is easy to hop on again if you want to take it around some more. Another fun way to get from Frontierland to Fantasyland is taking Big Thunder Trail. It will take you by an area they've turned into a petting area (say hi to the horse for me) and then your back in Fantasyland.

That was great icescatejen! I will definitely follow your advise and say hi to the horse for you.

Definetly use your fastpass for Indy. That will likely be the longest line. You will really enjoy the Blue Bayou. Plus, it's about 10 dollars cheaper a plate. Try the monte cristo. It is there signature lunch dish. If you get to the park when it first opens then go straight to the materhorn. There will be no line and then when you jump off you can go directly next door to Alice... There may be a long line, but I hear that the new Snow White show is very good also. I'm not sure that I would even spend any time on a small world.:Pinkbounc :bounce: Have fun.

When you get your map, check out the rides/attractions that have fast passes. Here is a list (from another poster) of rides that have independent fast passes--are not hooked up to each other and to other ones.

"First off, there are TWO networks, one for the Disneyland Park, and a second for Disney's California Adventure. They are totally separate, so you can always get one FASTPASS for each park.

Independent Machines (AKA Stand-Alone)

Pirates of the Caribbean (DL)
Haunted Mansion (DL)
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin(DL)
Star Tours(DL)

Grizzly River Run (DCA)
Muppet Vision 3D (DCA)
It's Tough to be a Bug! (DCA)"

So you can get a fast pass at one of the ones that are hooked together, then go get fast passes for any of the others, tho I believe Haunted Mansion and Pirates do not use them anymore.

It also helps to have an idea of the layout of the park and plan how you want to proceed.

Have fun!!!

Pirates and Haunted Mansion no longer offer Fastpass. HM will only have it for the Holiday version (and then probably only on weekends or very crowded days). Star Tours still has it. Don't know about Roger Rabbit. I don't think Muppet Vision and ITTBAB are still offering it either.

Hey -- have a great trip. We're going in November. But, if I were you I'd check the official site at Disney.com because the last time I looked, Matterhorn was closed for renovation. They keep updating the list, so hopefully everything you want to see will be open. Have fun!

I would also add Haunted Mansion to the list if you have time. They are a little different.
