Say if you had a once in a life time chance to decide where characters and character meals would be what would you do? And $ and people arent factors

The first thing I would do would be adding a character dining at Port Orleans Riverside with Princess and the Frog characters Tiana, Naveen, Louis, and Dr. Fallicer...

Then I would probably have more variety of characters in their own countries in the World SHowcase, for example I would have all Aladdin characters out in Morocco including Genie, Jafar, and Abu. I would also have all three Caballeros out in Mexico....

Anybody have any ideas????

I saw a thread talking about this. A lot of people thought a Toy Story meal in DHS would be a big draw

I literally beg all my coords. for something along the line of a Peter Pan dinner.

I can never get enough of that little bugger. ;)

Great thread!

I love the Princess and the Frog idea, and a Toy Story Character Meal is my number one wish for Disney.

They could have a Toy Story character meal at All Star Movies or Pop Century if they cant find a place else where like at DHS

If they hadn't closed Bonfamille's Restaurant at POFQ years ago, the Princess and the Frog idea might have actually happened!

Love that idea.

They should bring back the caravan that went around to the hotels in the morning. Certain mornings a week - different mornings for different hotels, about 4 characters would come to a hotel. I saw them at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I don't remember exactly who came but I think Cruella and Minnie did.

They ought to have more characters present at the resorts for sure, like Timon and Rafiki at Animal Kingdom Lodge or Brer Bear, Rabbit, and Fox at Port Orleans Riverside... There are definetly places around the resort grounds for greeting places for such..

I'd open a restaurant where guests could have meal meet & greets with only villains. Call it "The Poisoned Apple", and theme the interior around the wicked queen's (from Snow White) castle or dungeon. Well-themed, but not too frightening where smaller children could still enjoy the fun. Guests could have meals and mingle with Maleficent, Cruella, Dr. Facilier, the Wicked Queen, and other popular villains whom are seldom seen at the parks. It would be like MNSSHP year-round. :) Have this located somewhere on Sunset Blvd at DHS near the villains store.

I LOVE this idea!!! I would like to see something Brother Bear at Canada. Not sure how they'd pull that one off. I'd also like to see a fairy dining location w/ Tink and friends where the restaurant was designed as if diners were pixie sized. I've also wondered why there hasn't been a Pirates themed character meal with the popularity of the movies.

I'd have to go with a Character Cruise Dinner on a large boat (such as a ferry maybe) on Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake and it would end with a prime spot to view Wishes from the boat!!

I LOVE THIS!!! My DH was just talking about something like this yesterday. He said he wished there was a place where your could meet and interact with the villains. I think "The Poisoned Apple" is a PERFECT name!!! Love the location too!! Imagineers....are you reading?!?!

I would love for Roger Rabbit to hang around Toontown.

Jessica Rabbit to have a adults only club at downtown disney.

Nemo/Little Mermaid/anything at the waterparks, even if it's just a couple of them.

Alice at the UK pavilion

Little John & Baloo to appear together (apart from colour, spot the difference)

all good ideas. I love the theme of having Tiana and friends at POFQ- that would be perfect!! Also, a restaurant for the villains would be great too!

I do think some the meet and greats for the characters have gotten a little better over the years but more could be done like in the countries at Epcot.

Here's some things that I would do:

Magic Kingdom:
-Make Town Square go back to bringing out mostly random characters out for meet-and-greets, where the characters that appeared varied from day to day. Possibilities could include:
-Clarabelle & Horace
-Clara Cluck
-Clarice
-Max Goof
-Peg-Leg Pete
-Ludwig von Drake
-Scrooge McDuck
-Huey, Dewey & Louie
-The 3 Little Pigs
-Big Bad Wolf
-Bernard & Bianca
-Gurgi
-Basil
-Ratigan
-Roger Rabbit
-Oliver
-Dodger
-Launchpad MacQuack
-Darkwing Duck
-Rebecca Cunningham
-Kit Cloudkicker
-Don Karnage
-Gadget
-Monterey Jack
-Fat Cat
-Bonkers

-Have Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale appear in the Expo Hall, in the same new location that Mickey and Minnie are going to be moving in to.

-Bring Rafiki and Timon back to Adventureland and have them rotate with Baloo and King Louie.

-Have Genie and Abu appear regularly at the Aladdin Magic Carpets. They could rotate with Aladdin & Jasmine.

-Have Louis the alligator come out for regular sets, rotating with Tiana & Naveen at their gazebo in Liberty Square.

-Bring Captain Hook & Mr. Smee out for regular sets again and have them rotate with Peter Pan & Wendy in Fantasyland.

-Bring the 4 Country Bears out for regular meet-and-greets in Frontierland again.

-Have Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear go back to doing regular meet-and-greets near the Splash Mountain exit.

-Give Jack Sparrow a permanent meet-and-greet location near his attraction in Adventureland.

-Characters that I'm hoping they'll add to Fantasyland when its big rehab is complete:
-Gaston at his tavern.
-Dumbo near his newly-relocated ride.
-Other Cinderella characters (Prince Charming, Jaq & Gus-Gus, etc.) near Cindy's attraction.
-Prince Phillip, Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and Maleficent near the Sleeping Beauty attraction.
-All the Robin Hood characters near The Friar's Nook.
-All the Pinocchio characters near their Village Haus.
-The 7 Dwarfs, the Evil Queen and Snow White & her Prince near their ride.
-Other Little Mermaid characters (Prince Eric, Chef Louie, etc.). near the Little Mermaid ride.

Epcot:
-Remove Daisy and Stitch from the main entrance area and replace them with Kim Possible & Ron Stoppable.

-Bring out all 3 Caballeros at Mexico.

-Have Mushu rejoin Mulan at China and add Shang as well.

-Bring out all 7 Dwarfs at Germany.

-Bring Genie back to Morocco

-Bring the Hunchback characters (Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Clopin, etc.) back to France.

-Bring Mr. Toad out for sets at the United Kingdom.

-Bring the Figment meet-and-greets at the Imagination pavilion back.

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
-Add Clarabelle, Horace, Clarice and Roger Rabbit to the meet-and-greet sets at the Sorcerer's Hat.

-Bring more of the Toy Story characters (Jessie, Bullseye, Bo Peep, Mr. Potato Head, etc.) out for meet-and-greets at Pixar Place.

-Create a new Muppet meet-and-greet of some kind.

-Eliminate the V.I.P.'s (Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, etc.) from the "Fantasmic" meet-and-greet sets in the Animation building and add the following characters to the list of possibilities for those sets:
-Cruella de Vil
-Bert
-Baloo
-King Louie
-Robin Hood
-Maid Marian
-Little John
-John Smith
-Hercules
-Meg
-Phil
-Hades
-Pain & Panic
-Shang
-Mushu
-Shan-Yu
-Dopey
-Maleficent
-Mr. Walrus
-Quasimodo
-Esmeralda
-Phoebus
-Clopin
-Frollo
-Tiana
-Naveen
-Louis
-Dr. Facilier
-Remy
-Emile
-Bolt
-Mittens
-Rhino
-Lewis
-Wilbur Robinson
-Bowler Hat Guy
-Carl Fredrickson
-Russell
-Dug

Animal Kingdom:
-Bring Kenai & Koda back to Camp Minnie-Mickey and have them rotate with Thumper & Miss Bunny.

-Have John Smith join Pocahontas at either of her locations.

-Bring Princess Atta, Mowgli, Tarzan and Jane out for regular meet-and-greets alongside their respective co-stars.

Wow, I totally forgot about this. It was called "Surprise Morning Caravan" or "Magical Morning Caravan" or something like that (typical Disney -- these things all start to sound the same after awhile). It occurred in the aftermath of September 11th, when the park attendance was way down. They dropped the early entry to the theme parks for resort guests and replaced it with this hotel character thing.

This thread would be a better fit on the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move it there now.

Very cool idea! I think they actually did have a villains dinner a while back . . . I believe it was either at 1900 Park Fare or Ohana, I don't remember which. But an entire villains-themed restaurant would be awesome!

I'd have to go with a Character Cruise Dinner on a large boat (such as a ferry maybe) on Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake and it would end with a prime spot to view Wishes from the boat!!

Actually, someone told me once that they had a character meal on a boat a long (long) time ago for their birthday. I don't remember the name (or if the person even told me the name), though.

Little John & Baloo to appear together (apart from colour, spot the difference)

Phil Harris! :)

Here are my ideas:

Huey, Dewey, and Louie somewhere

Pluto with Figaro (he was Gepetto's cat first, but then later was Minnie's cat and has many cartoon appearances with Pluto). They would be hilarious to meet together!

Captain Jack Sparrow in Adventureland

Muppet Mobile Lab (Dr. Honeydew and Beaker) near Muppet*Vision

Peter Pan with Captain Hook - their banter would be hysterical!

And if money is no object - a Neverland character meal with Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee. And then instead of having a dance around the restaurant, every 45 minutes Tinkerbell and the other fairies would appear virtually on the walls, as if they were flying around the restaurant. :)

I agree a Toy Story meal would be cool - I remember reading in AllEars a few years back that it was actually in the works for DHS, but then eventually cancelled and Play & Dine began.

These are all AMAZING ideas! :thumbsup2 And I LOVE the idea of the villains restaurant. You never see them enough, if you ask me.
