If you had an extra $300...

What would you do with it?

We actually saved more than we thought we would for our WDW/Disney Dream trip in 2 weeks:cool1:

So, after doubling our F & W budget, adding $600 more in "spending money" for souvenirs and an extra cocktail or 2 at Palo, we still have about $300 or so in extra money not already budgeted for.

The trip will be for DH, DD9 and me. She's too young for the tours we want to do and we've already done BBB. We'll be at WDW for 7 days and on the Dream for 3 nights - so one could say that we could blow through that extra money on this and that. However, rather than have it go to the wind, I was wondering what else we might make good use of that $300 or so for.

So, what would YOU do?:scratchin

I would not plan anything in particular and wait for that special moment when it hits you that you want a certain souviner, to eat a special menu item, have that celebratory drink, etc.

You could send it to me. :rotfl2:

What about a carriage ride?
Para-sailing?
Horseback Riding?

i would put it in my pocket and take it home to start it growing for the next trip.

1) Splurge on a signature dinner.
2) Hoop De Doo Review (Going this trip for the first time, so I can't really vouch for this.)
3) Try the fancy pay-extra restaurant on the Dream.
4) If you're going in two weeks, MNSSHP if you don't have the extra tix to that already.
5) LOTS OF MICKEY BARS!!!! :mickeybar: :mickeybar: :thumbsup2

this is the most logical thing but..... i would blow right through that $300 if i had extra money lol. i would try not to, but also like someone else said, it's always good to have some backup $$ if something technical goes wrong

I was thinking V&A for you and your DH, but I don't think $300 would cover it to be honest. One of the other signature restaurants would be fun too, like California Grill. I would make the reservation for the last evening of your trip and then if anything came up before where you needed the cash you could cancel your reservation, if not, you would have a lovely memory on your last night.:cheer2:

I like other people's suggestions of the bounce back deposit.

If it were me I'd keep it handy for extras like souvenirs, food etc. :)

$300 wouldn't cover all of V&A, but it would cover the vast majority. DH and I went last year just in the dining room and it was $125pp. If you don't get the wine pairings ($60pp) or any dish that has a premium added, then you're looking at $250 before tax and tip.

Photos on the ship! Other than that, don't budget it - it'll disappear on it's own! :rotfl2: Trust me... we just got back from 7 nights on the Wonder and somehow the budget went overboard!

Since you seem to have a cushion in many different categories I would look into the cost of a fireworks cruise or pirate and pal cruise. Something to make a great memory that doesn't happen every trip.
I believe it is just a bit more than $300 so you could make up the difference in theother padded categories.

You can never have enough souvenirs. Tack it on to your $600 and splurge for those you left back home

I believe I'm paying $375 for the cruise and that doesn't include the tip for the boat captain. I've done it before and I'm sure it was $375 last time.

The parasailing is fun but I like the Cirque show better for family entertainment.

I'd get a massage for me and DH onboard ... your feet will be tired after all that walking in the World. Then if there was any leftover, book your next dummy cruise onboard so you have the 10% off and OBC for next cruise ...
