If you forgot to put money under the pillow from Tooth Fairy, what excuse did you tell your children if they asked why there was no money there? 🧚‍♂️

This just happened to me. Oh my goodness - the panic! We said write a letter and try again. Maybe she was busy...

We either said the tooth fairy must have been busy and will probably come tonight, or I hid it and asked the child to help me look better because I’m sure she didn’t actually forget.

With three kids so close in age, our tooth fairy was kept very busy for a good little stretch. This happened more than I care to admit! I knew the gig was up when one of them told me the tooth fairy forgot, so could we go wake him up and make him do his job (Daddy!)? 😳😬😂

"Supply chain issues"

It works for everything else these days.

Seriously, though, I would say "Oops, she probably ran out of fairy dust and couldn't complete her rounds. I'm sure she will come back tonight."

And then I MADE SURE she came back that night.

"Did you TELL the tooth fairy about the tooth? She doesn't read minds."
"You know a bunch of your friends lost teeth this week too. She is busy."
"She texted me she ran into a bunch of traffic. She'll be here tonight."

Mine used to clench the tooth in their hand (in a baggie) and I could never get it without waking them. I then told them the toothfairy asked them to leave it on the windowsill for her... lol that was much easier and i was less likely to forget about it because i saw it when i put them to bed!

Make something up like maybe we didn't put the little box in the right place, fairies can't fly in the rain, or the dog must have scared her away. If all else failed there's always, "your room was so messy she couldn't find the tooth".

I did what a few others said, I grabbed the money then went about searching the room and it "appeared" as I was flipping through the comforter.

I do to mine what my Mom did to me. The tooth is left in a small glass of water on the kitchen counter to keep it "fresh" with a polite note for the fairy. The fairy is VERY busy and we have to keep the tooth out and obvious for her and make this transaction easy! She takes the tooth and leaves a fiver under the glass of water with a "thanks for the business!" note. All parties are satisfied. It makes forgetting impossible.

My parents said that it was raining on her route and the tooth fairy can’t fly with wet wings…I used that same reasoning with my daughter.

If they couldn't find the money, I acted surprised and rushed in to help shove sheets and pillows aside (with a dollar in my hand, of course) and always found a way to have it suddenly appear.
