Can you stand to read the other boards? I can't, I'm too jealous and want to go back so bad.......

I actually like going to the Resorts Board and Theme Parks Board. I guess I see it as taking a vacation thru other people. Don't get me wrong - I'd love to be planning yet another trip. I think the closest I'll get anytime soon is visiting my DBIL and DSIL. They just moved about 40 mts. from Disney. I'm hoping to visit them in the next year or so and you can't be that close to Disney without going right?

Sure, but... I'm strongly considering changing my vacation plans to include Walt Disney World!

I like answering questions other people have, or giving my opinion on restaurants and resorts. Doesn't matter if I have a trip planned.

I read it all. Love it! And am happy others are having a great time!

I am kind of in between on this.

On one hand...I am almost get a tiny "rush" when I go to the resorts board, or the restaurants board...it almost takes me back to the time when I was new to the DISboards and everything was a learning experience. I don't live too far from Disney so I know another trip is always on the horizon for me.

On the other hand...yeah, I get a twinge of jealousy! Like when we are checking out of a resort and walking past people checking in, just starting their vacation! I am so envious!

I have noticed that when I don't go to those boards in awhile...i am really out of the loop when planning for an upcoming trip! Like...I remember when ADRs were to be made at 90 days out. Then, it went to 180 days. THEN, went back to 90. Well, I went to make some ADRs at 90 days prior to my check in, and couldn't get what I wanted...they had gone BACK to 180 days and since I hadn't been on the DIS, I had no idea! So it pays to keep up with your "Disney Studies!" LOL!

Sometimes reading the boards makes it worse so I take a break for a bit. I stay out of the resort/photo of the day boards when I'm really missing it because that makes it harder for me to wait it out.

Last year, I actually paid for a vacation. But, DM broke her hip, went to rehab, eventually came home and I had to "rehab" her from the rehab. I could have gone anyway, my aunt came up, but financially, it was not good as I took off a month to stay home with DM until she got her mojo back.

But, I still went on the boards trying to help first timers. DD and I are going to WDW Halloween weekend. Ironically, my DM has gotten over a vicious UTI-try 3 antibiotics, fell and she is now in a rehab. Not sure if she will be home in time, but my aunt is coming up anyway and I have to go on vacation before I lose my mind.

I have no trips to WDW planned - and don't really see any in my future -ever.. Doesn't bother me in the least to read the other boards..:goodvibes

In my case, from 2006 to 2008, I think I took too many trips to WDW and got burned out.. I can honestly say I have no interest in going back..

I still enjoy hearing about others trips though..:goodvibes

While I do love to read/advise on the restaurants board, I have to stay away from the parks & resorts boards when I have no trip planned. Makes me too depressed. This summer I've been especially down about it, because we'd had a trip planned for August - before the kids go back to school - but had to cancel. It was for a variety of good reasons but it's just killing me! :sad1:

I had a trip planned. We would have been going in August. We were going to celebrate my graduation, my mom’s kidney transplant (1 year August), and my parents’ b-days. We were preparing to talk to AAA when dad ended up in the ICU and stayed there for a month. At that point, all plans for a vacation went out the window.

I must admit, at first I couldn’t go to the other boards because I was disappointed. But, I accepted it and was grateful my dad survived, so now, I enjoy reading about people going and planning. I live vicariously through others  Besides, I like planning vacations almost as much as I enjoy taking them!:goodvibes

Well I go to DLR not WDW but yes, I'm still here and there. :) LOL I haven't been to the parks since January but I still visit the DLR boards almost daily.

I find myself contributing less when I don't have a trip planned. I still drop by to read posts on the CB and Budget Board, but I avoid ThemeParks, dining and Transportation when I'm not in the throes of planning. Planning our next trip is still a long way off, but I come by to keep up with what's new and ever-changing at WDW.

No, I don't read the other boards since I don't know when we'll be going back. I finally found a job and they love me and want to promote me after just 3 weeks, so dh is talking about a trip again, lol. Of course, I have no vacation time coming yet though!

I don't not read the other boards because I would be jealous of others trips, just don't read them because I know I won't be going anytime soon and don't see the point.

I do read the Disneyland board more because I will be more likely to go there than a trip accross the country to WDW.

This, for me too. :thumbsup2 I mean, I always have a trip planned, I just don't know when I will get there. :rotfl2: Plus, I also enjoy reading/talking about other things with my DIS friends.

This just made me chuckle! That's us too! Although our trip next month got cancelled, we will plan again, just not right now. DS #1 was funny last night at dinner - he said "I can't wait to start planning for our next trip to Disney, Mom. I KNOW we will go again, we will, I just KNOW it!" I asked him if he was sure about that and he said "Oh Yes!". I guess he knows me too well ..:lmao:
