If you DID win a trip to WDW...

... how would you know?!

At least once a month we get phone messages telling us we've won such a trip! And of course we ignore them, because we (correctly) assume they're just pushing timeshares or running some scam.

But I have entered some legitimate contests recently. I'm just assuming they would contact us by mail if we won, because it's hard to imagine a phone message that would convince us they were legit.

I've wondered the same thing. If someone called and said I won, I would say I wasn't interested, figuring it was another telemarketer. I've entered so many of these contests that I just know they're going to pick me soon.;).

LOL! I just won one of those trips today. ;)
If you really won something, you would be contacted by the company that ran the contest, and Im sure you would know it was legitimate, if you really entered. A perfect example was last year I entered a contest for a local radio station, but I did it under DH's name. I told him about it and was planning the whole trip out, LOL! He thought I was crazy and told me no way would we win. A couple weeks later he got a call from the radio station and he almost died! Unfortuantely we only won the second prize and not the trip, but it was still a nice treat.
Good luck!

You just KNOW when you win. In one of my recent wins, I was notified via email AND US Postal. They sent paperwork that I had to verify (get notarized) that I was who I said I was and that I was over 18......

Only after I filled out the verifying paperwork did they send the rest of the information on how to actually use my prize. There have been absolutely NO strings attached whatsoever. The prize is mine to be used within their time guidelines.

I honestly don't think someone who won something large would be notified via the telephone. It would be more "official" than that.
I could be wrong though.....LOL

It depends. I won a trip to CA earlier this year. I was FedExed an affadavit and a follow up phone call. I have entered other contest where the rules say they will only contact you by phone. If they don't identify themselves with a company name, you can assume it's a crock.

I can usually tell by the name they provide. My SO and I have different last names. If I ever get something with my first name and his last name on it, I know it's a fake.;) All those calls I get on the "trips" I've won, they always call me by the wrong last name.:teeth:

If it sounds too good to be true... it usually is. We've all been around Disney long enough to know they don't give a whole lot away for free. It would be nice if they recognized frequent visitors with something, but it's not likely to be a free vacation.

It's amazing how many people "win" things they haven't entered or had anything to do with. Of course, before you're done, there's usually something you have to buy or agree to.
