If you could work at Disney.....

DH always says he is going to captain the boats that run the CR - VWL - FT route. He says I can work in the finance department since that is what I do now. I really would not mind working in one of the trading posts at Ft Wilderness or something with the guests - did travel agency job for years also worked at a hotel convention center for a few years and I do like working with people.

While I do have a real job sitting behind a desk, I'm actually the drummer for a county concert band and have been playing drums since third grade. I also read music which is not the norm for most drummers and so I would love to play at the Grand Floridian or in the Beatles band at Epcot or maybe even the pit orchestra for one of he Disney cruise ships. I would also like to live in a 2 bedroom villa at the Wilderness Lodge.

I would love to be a VIP tour guide. It's my latest dream to move down to FL and do this after I retire. Granted, that's still 30 years away or so, but us Disney gals (and guys) need to dream....

I'd love to do the opening show at MK or work in the American Adventure since I love WS.

Boat captain. Preferably the MK Poly GF route. The WL MK route would be cool to go over the water bridge. I'm ready to move there now.

I don't think I'd care as long as I get to work on Main Street. DH and I have always talked about doing this in our retirement.

Omg...i love this thread. Have any of you actually looked for your dream job at Disney?i scope out the job postings all of the time. I work in medicine so i know they won't have a job for me, at least in my current position. i have mentioned looking at the hospital in Celebration and my husband rolls his eyes. If i couldn't practice medicine there I would probably want to work at BBB.

Every time I go I step out into the streets and dance in the parade. I want to be a dancer in the parade and look at all the excited happy faces staring back at me. I always feel regret that I never did anything fun like that right after high school. I loved being in plays so acting is my gig.

I would want to work in the ticket booth. People are all excited to get into the parks and let the real magic begin! princess:

DW and I plan to retire down there and get jobs working for Disney. I'd like to work at the turnstiles so I could greet people everyday as they enter

Where do you go to search for Disney jobs?

I notice from the previous posts a lot of people are thinking in the future as a retirement job at Disney. Actually, they do employ many retired people in seasonal positions. DH and I have thought about it, but, will probably only spend the worst of the winter in central FL (maybe Jan and Feb) so don't know if only 8 weeks or so will qualify as seasonal. However, our youngest son spent five months working in the College Program from Jan 2011 to May 2011. He worked on the Backlot Tour at HS....sometimes loading/unloading and sometimes driving the tram....they switch off every hour or so during an 8 hour shift. Actually, IMO, this was one of the best CP jobs since he never worked past dusk (8 p.m.) Backlot Tour is one of the few rides which is operational only during daylight hours. Several of his roommates had all kinds of crazy shifts during EMH and late nights, but, his was pretty stable.....start time anywhere from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and shift end anywhere from 3 to 8 p.m....he usually worked 32 to 35 hours a week....which left him plenty of time to enjoy the five months he worked also.....not to mention....when he graduated college it was a nice addition to his resume.....

Main Street gum scraper. I'm a motivated, independent worker.:thumbsup2

I always said when I grow up I want to work at Disney World. Before I was busy raising kids, now I will be done with nursing school in 2015 at 51. Disney wants 5 years experience working in a ER. Doing that now. I will be at set to be a nurse at the parks! :). My DH always said he would drive a bus but after our last trip, he has decided he wants to captain a boat!

That's my plan, too!! Although retirement is a little closer for me.... 10-15 years. I would love to give tours at MK. I had also thought about working at city hall in guest relations. I want to help people get the most magic out of their Disney experience. °O°

My plan is to retire in the Mountains of Tennessee mostly to be closer to Disney! I want to be a seasonal or part time Nurse at WDW ideally working in the first aid station.
