If you could, what would you blow the budget on?

Every Jan 2nd me and my 3 Best friends get together and have a girls only lunch. After lunch we walked up and down 5th ave looking in the stores we would never shop in, probably because we can't afford it. :lmao:

Anyway, we stopped into Louie Vutton and there was an a carry on satchel that I seriously considered selling my teenager for (not that he would get that much). I should know better than to go into any store where Beyonce shops.

So if you weren't budget minded, feet firmly grounded in reality what would you buy or do?

Let me tell you, if 5th ave is any indication there are whole lot of people with disposable income out there. :rotfl2:

Right now my big budget buster would be new, nice quality furniture. We are still using the cheapo bedroom set I bought when I was in college (raking in the $$$$ waitressing!). I absolutely HATE IT! DH has a little four drawer chest that his clothes don't even fit into. We've looked at new furniture, but we would be looking at a minimum of $2000 ...... and that's still for some cheap poorly made stuff. I can't believe how much decent quality (or cheap for that matter!) furniture costs.

My local bike shop has a Specialized S-Works bike, don't recall the model name, that is the lightest thing I have ever seen. It's on sale for around $5000. I want that bike. I have a nice bike but I want the new one.

hmm well first off probably a DVC membership. And then the more expensive house on the beach in South Carolina.

I'd do some work on our house... I love the basic layout, but there are some things I'd love to do to improve it, both inside & out. (New window treatments, rugs, furniture, hardwood, convert our dressing room into a walk through closet, library shelves, finished basement, new landscaping, etc.)

Mine would be a DVC membership! :cool1:

I would send my very confused 18 yo son to Spain for a year to do university there in a general studies program. I know I could get him to go and I know he needs to find himself without his girlfriend's help. It would strengthen him both socially and emotionally and would show him he can do things he never thought possible and he would learn to rely on himself. My hope would be that it would strengthen his relationship with his GF as well (of course there is the risk that the relationship would end but if it can't withstand that distance for a year it would be best anyway!)

One year off.

I would sell everything and travel for a year-I want to see the world. My husband and I have talked about it, but we are too afraid we will not be able to get our level of jobs back upon return (well his anyway).

The house/cars we can easily replace, along with most of the junk in them(we'd store some things, but very little); we even have someone willing to take our cats for the year.

I keep thinking if we won the Lottery we would not need jobs to come back to, so each time the lottery is over $100 million dollars for the jackpot, I break down and spend a $1. No luck yet....I'll let you know if we win. ;)

I am taking my granddaughters on their first Disney Cruise in 2 weeks. If money was no object, we would have veranda staterooms instead of inside staterooms. I know the girls would love them.

I'd have to say DVC, my second pick would be a Camaro. I've always wanted one of those....LOL

A bigger house with a housekeeper who cooks.
Vacations every year...a few times a year.

Hm... I live in VA and my husband is a cyclist. What store has that bike? My sister has a custom made Blue (among her and her husband's 9 bikes!). I stick to the pool.

For me, my budget buster would be the latest and greatest in technical swim racing suits. Right now they are banning all of the ones out now (including mine) so the new ones are pricey. $400 for a racing suit that will only last a swim meet or 2. That would mean I'd spend around $1600 a year just in racing suits! Add in the practice suits ($140), coaching fee ($2500 a year), goggles, etc. Swimming can get expensive for a non-pro.

OP it's Louis Vuitton not Louie and they are an investment that is well worth it.

Purchase wise, I would take my family on a Disney Cruise. They all really want to go but it is not at all in the budget. My oldest will be 16 this year and I wonder if we will ever get to go as a family. I know there are way worse things, but I'd still love to take them.

But non-item wise, I would love for my DH to be able to leave his job where he is on call 24/7 including on vacation days and gets no respect for how hard he works.

Until we win the lottery those are both just dreams, but it is fun to dream!!! :cloud9:

If money were no object, I spend a fortune feeding my handbag and shoe habits. Seriously, I'm pretty sure that I could outdo Imelda Marcos with unlimited funds!

Hubby thinks I might need a 12-step program for my handbag problem. I secretly agree, but I'll never 'fess up!

Now, I don't need a LV to get my fix! I actually don't like them very much - I cannot stand ANYTHING with a repeating logo pattern. One subtle logo is enough for me!

Fossil is more my cup of tea, maybe Coach. I'd probably have bags and shoes of in every imaginable colour and then for variety, I'd start adding prints!

All this talk about handbags has me itching to go to a Fossil or Coach outlet right now!

Tens days in the Virgin Islands would be where I would waste my money.:cloud9:

One morning we rode a bike to a secluded beach and found a cooler with a "help yourself" sign- it was 9 am filled with frozen cocktails!! mmmm! It's a tiny private island off the coast of Antigua. Just heaven on earth.
